As part of the "New Plan" festival, which is dedicated to the modernist architecture of Poznan, a series of six films under the common title: "Homemakers." In each episode, residents of selected modernist houses and apartments talk about their places of residence.
The first episode is dedicated to the house of architect Piotr Wędrychowicz, where he lives with his wife. The house is located in the vicinity of the Citadel park, which is one of the prettiest and greenest areas of Poznan. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, a colony of atrial houses was built there for Poznan architects and artists. Wędrychowicz co-authored the foundation and designed the custom house.
"Spacious terraced houses with attractively sculpted bodies combine modernist rationality and the need for more individualized development, which was strong in the 1980s. Based on the same design, they differ from each other, both in detail and layout, which is the result of both deliberate design decisions and later unauthorized alterations." - write the curators of the series.
Piotr WĘDRYCHOWICZ - architect and urban planner, was born in 1938 in Poznań. He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology. From 1975 he taught at the Poznan University of Technology. In 1989-90 he was the chief architect of Poznan. He runs the author's private architectural office Wędrychowicz Architekci. He was president of SARP Poznan for two terms. His wife Ewa is an English teacher. He has two children.
