dream of a house in Ostrow Tumski
Jan Wellenger, Henryk Jarosz and Jerzy Liśniewicz - these are the architects who designed the unusual Zagórze housing development on Ostrów Tumski in Poznań. Modernist (though topped with steep roofs!) terraced houses were built here in the 1960s. One of them was inhabited by a family that is no stranger to architectural design either. For Andrzej Maleszka and Malgorzata Fornalczyk, living in Ostrow Tumski was a dream that they were lucky enough to realize. Despite the great design, the architect couple did not settle on their laurels and significantly modified the terraced house. Today, there is vintage Ikea furniture, plates with patterns created by Zofia Stryjeńska and plenty of windows with a unique view - the Poznan Cathedral, St. Adalbert's Hill, the Faculty of Architecture and the Poznan City Hall are drawn in the frames delineated by them. In the garden, meanwhile, Andrzej Maleszka has encrypted a hidden message. What did he want to convey with it? You can find out in the video, in which Jacek Maleszka and his mother, Malgorzata Formalczyk, talk about this unusual place.
