This is another video in which the Homebuilders show how to live in Brno. In today's episode, we take a look inside Alfa Palace, a modernist complex that has everything you need to live.
Initiated during the New Plan festival in Poznań, the series "Domokrążcy" has what we expect from a good series - engaging stories, colorful characters and beautiful interiors. The project is jointly organized by the SARP Poznań Branch, the Common Point Association, the Open Center and the Made in art Foundation. Each episode introduces viewers and viewers to the stories of unique interiors and their inhabitants.
a modernist city within a city
Every Brno resident knows this building. Pasaż Alfa is actually a city within a city - the modernist edifice, located on Liberty Square, offers residents much more than a space to live. There are stores, florists, cafes and even the HaDivadlo theater, which for many years functioned as a cinema. Some members of the local community go down to the first floor each morning to the establishments they run, only to return in the evening to their apartment a few floors above. Barbora Hrončoková, the main character in today's film, says she spends most of her time here:
Alpha gives me the feeling of a village. A person is cooking and runs out of spices, then goes in his slippers to Sindibad to get soup seasoning
The Alpha Passage is one big ecosystem. Both native Brno residents and visitors, mostly students, live here. The place also attracts passersby - there are meetings, concerts and a flea market. The arcade is also a meeting place for local bohemian artists, whose representatives hang out at the Švanda café. What is life like in the 1930s multifunctional complex?
