a cat, architects and an old closet
When Dominika and Bartek first entered the tenement in which they were later to buy an apartment, their hearts beat harder. It turned out that the unit presented by the realtor stood vis a vis the apartment that in the 1960s belonged to the grandfather of one of them. However, this is just the beginning of the elements that connect the past and present in their home. The architect couple decided to make their dwelling a space that would be an heirloom. During the renovation, most of the original substance was preserved - 19th-century stucco peeks out from under the paint, the walls please the eye with their historic brick threads, and old cast-iron water pipes were uncovered in the corner of the bathroom. The furnishings in the apartment also tell a passionate story - much of the furniture was donated to the couple by family and friends, in the living room stands a CRT TV that Bartek's father bought for the World Cup, and the bed in the bedroom was built from original steel I-beams. An old closet also stands there, with a passageway hidden instead of clothes. What is located on the other side? Check it out for yourselves!
