The series "Domokrążcy" has what we expect from a good series - interesting stories, interesting characters and beautiful interiors. Initiated during the New Plan festival in Poznań, the project organized jointly by the Poznań branch of SARP, the Common Point Association, the Open Center and the Made in art Foundation brings us closer to the stories of interiors and their inhabitants, inviting viewers to take a virtual walk through domestic spaces and listen to the stories of their hosts.
The latest edition of "Domokrążcy" invites us beyond the borders of the country, this time we can approach not only the interiors of Poznan, but also of Brno houses and apartments. Why did the organizers set their sights on this Czech city?
Brno and Poznan have one common denominator - trade fairs. However, the architecture of the Brno complex was much more firmly rooted in modernism from the very beginning. Just like the pre-war villas and residential houses there, to which we invite visitors crossing the Polish border for the first time as part of "Domokrążcy", the series' creators explain. - What do Czech modernist apartments look like? How do their tenants treat them? What stories are associated with the premises they occupy? Admittedly, we did not film the interiors of the Tugendhat villas, but there is still something to see! As part of the international project, you will have the opportunity to compare a Brno villa and a Poznan villa from the interwar period, as well as two apartments - a Czech one from before the war and a Polish one from the first decades of communist Poland, they add.
So what can we expect in this season of "Homemakers"? The first episode is behind us (premiere on October 5), in which historian Marcin Mikolajczak guides us through the nooks and crannies of an apartment in a block of apartments in Poznań's Grunwald district.

The next installment premieres today (October 12 at 18:00) - anthropologist Barbora Hroncokova, a tenant of one of the 180 apartments, will talk about the unusual Alfa Palace building in Brno.
The eight-story Alfa Palace, designed in the 1930s by prominent architect Bohuslav Fuchs, is one of Brno's most iconic buildings. Located in the heart of the old city at the corner of Jánská and Potovská Streets, it consists of six residential floors and a two-story shopping hall with a glass-roofed gallery, which is connected to the residential wings by three courtyards on the upper floors. Numerous stores and services on the street side present two-story elegant storefronts, and on the highest set-back residential floors terraces have been placed overlooking the rooftops of the old city, the series' creators say about the protagonist of the next episode.
