A unique body, intriguing solutions and unusual decoration. This is how the house of the mode:lina™ studio project looks like.

A modern interpretation of a traditional block

The house designed by Pawel Garus, Jerzy Woźniak and Kinga Kin is located in Borówc, near Poznań. It is already another building by the mode:lina™ studio in this locality. The form of the house - two blocks with a sloping roof and an asymmetrical garage cube "embedded" in them - is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional style. It is complemented by simple, raw materials - bricks, concrete and sheet metal in shades of gray. On the wall facing the street, it was decided to have as few windows as possible. As a result, residents do not have to worry about noises and are assured of peace and quiet. In addition, the use of a clear and large fence gives them a sense of security. Hence the idea for the name of the house, namely FenceHouse.

Design

Two spaces

The shape of the building was dictated by its function. The homeowners - parents and two children - wanted to live independently - hence the idea to divide it into two parts. Separate zones on the first floor allow adults to enjoy peace and quiet, and children to run wild to their heart's content in their own "house."

First floor

The first floor of the house is the common area for all its inhabitants. It is occupied by a unique kitchen protruding into the garden and a large living room with a mezzanine, reaching the attic. An unusual element is the window in the hallway, which exposes the homeowner's unique car inside the garage in the form of a graphite cube.

Corridor

Living room

The living room is a large open space in which the key role is played by large irregular windows revealing the forest surrounding the house. The most interesting part of this room is the mezzanine with a library. The bookcases were built from the old ceiling beams of one of the Poznań tenement houses.
