Building a house is a process that consists of many phases. One of the final phases of finishing a building from the outside is the design and execution of the facade. The façade, or the outer surface of the building wall, is not only hugely important for the aesthetics of the house, but also for its functionality and the comfort of the occupants.
House elevations - why are they so important?
.A façade is a protective layer of a building that protects it from the damaging effects of atmospheric agents such as rain, snow, harsh sun or frost. A properly selected façade can also improve a building's thermal insulation. The facade is also of great importance for how your home will ultimately look and whether the walls of the building will be visually consistent with, for example, the window and door frames.
.What kind of plaster for a facade to choose?
.Plaster is one of the most popular facade materials. Low cost, easy installation and a wide range of colors make plaster great for creating a practical, economical, aesthetically pleasing and modern facade. You can choose from mineral, acrylic, silicone or silicate facade plasters. Depending on the design of the facade, you can use the same substance on the entire surface of the house or combine two different (for example, mosaic plaster on the pedestal, and mineral plaster on the rest of the house).
What for the facade? Not just plaster
.Plaster is a popular, but not the only solution you can use. How else can you finish the facade of a building?
- Stone on the facade - stone facade will be a beautiful and versatile element of your house, which will look as good in 10 years as the day of installation. Its properties will also not change after years. The great advantage of stone paving is its durability, resistance to frost, moisture and UV radiation. .
- Timber façade - wood is an ecological and warm material that fits well in both classical and modern buildings. Wooden facade looks beautiful and insulates the building perfectly. However, it is important to remember that such a surface must be regularly treated. This will make it look good and perform its function flawlessly. .
- Clinker façade - clinker façade is a type of finishing of the exterior walls of a building, made of ceramic elements fired at high temperatures. A clinker façade is made up of small bricks. Clinker facade is characterized by high durability, resistance to weather conditions, low water absorption, aesthetic appearance and ease of maintenance. .
Facade color - which one to opt for?
.Is it worth betting onthe most fashionable colorselevation in a given season? There is no clear answer to this question. Taking inspiration from the latest trends is always advisable, but it is not worth following them blindly. We make a facade once in many years, and trends often change. It is much better to bet on a universal color scheme that will look great for many years.
