Bricks and clinker tiles that delight in color,
texture and format, and environmentally friendly
Ecoceramics or clinker on the facade
Centuries ago, clinker was appreciated by our ancestors. Despite the passage of time, it still has a wide range of supporters even now, especially among specialists in ecological and energy-efficient construction. What is behind the timeless popularity of clinker and makes it one of the most frequently chosen building materials even today?

Mankind has been dealing with clinker for a very long time. It is enough to mention that the inhabitants of ancient Mesopotamia, Babylon and Egypt built their houses with bricks, and the magnificent Rome was also built with it. All the more reason to consider it a phenomenon that for several hundred or even several thousand years, clinker has lost nothing of its appeal and great popularity is also enjoyed today.
In these times of incredibly rapid technological development and space flight, ceramic is still considered one of the most durable and safest building materials for human health and the environment.
Modern ceramics for the times
The history of bricks began eight thousand years before our era. The modern edition of this material is primarily a much larger range of products and a modernized production process than in the past. What has remained unchanged, however, is the raw material from which they are made - it is pure and natural clay.

Röben, which has been in the market for ceramic building materials for more than 160 years,
produces bricks only from high-quality clay.
To make clinker, the manufacturer uses the right minerals and metal oxides. Cement, lime and other artificial additives are not used in the production of bricks. As a result, they are natural and safe for the inhabitants of the houses erected from them.

The bricks are fired at very high temperatures - more than 1000°C. This gives them durability and an extremely low water absorption rate of up to 6%. This makes Röben products very robust and, among other things, frost resistant. In addition, they have high resistance to compression, as well as to the effects of chemical compounds and biodegradation. Besides, they meet the requirements of EN 771-1: 2011+A1:2015, so they are used in energy-efficient construction. The products are also thoroughly ecological, manufactured in accordance with the principles of sustainability andzero waste.
Natural, durable and impressive
Both bricks and clinker tiles are environmentally friendly and recyclable materials. All Röben products that do not meet standards are recycled again. This always results in building materials of the highest quality, natural and extremely durable.

Clinker, thanks to its resistance to harsh weather conditions, not only perfectly protects our home, but at the same time has a beneficial effect on the interior microclimate. The clay from which the bricks are made has moisture-regulating properties. It is capable of quickly absorbing and releasing moisture. Because of this, it does not allow the room to be either too dry or too humid - it keeps the humidity in the interior at 50-60%. In addition, it provides adequate ionization of the air, which benefits our health. The clinker is anti-allergenic, anti-bacterial and anti-static.
Throughout its life, clinker looks great. It is resistant to mechanical damage, biological degradation, UV radiation - it does not fade or change color. It is easy and economical to refresh the clinker facade - just wash it with water.
Modern aesthetics of eco-ceramics
Today's clinker bricks delight in color, texture and format. Röben's offer includes products ranging from very bright white, through sand, yellow, orange, in shades of red, to browns, grays, graphites and deep blacks.

Their color can be solid or shaded, and with additional effects of rubbing and glossy patterns. There are also numerous face textures to choose from. In addition to smooth, it can be sandblasted, split, chipped, scratched or fluted.
Among modern clinker products you will find those that can be used on both sides. With them we will get a glazed, uniform surface or an original, rustic, aged surface.
In addition to the universal size of the bricks, we also have two much longer formats available: LDF with dimensions of 290 x 115 x 52 mm or the longer XLDF with proportions of 365 x 115 x 52 mm. New clinker models and a wide range of colors and textures make it possible to realize unconventional facade projects.
