The young owners of a 65-square-meter apartment in Warsaw's Wola district have found their place in a recent apartment building designed by the renowned Medusa studio. They entrusted the interior design to Daria Wiergowska, owner of Hatch Studio.

The direct entrance to the living room connected to the kitchen did not suit the investors. They did not want the kitchen space to be the first one visible upon entering the apartment. The architect suggested separating a small corridor, which will demarcate the entrance from the rest of the rooms and at the same time, there will be plenty of space for storing various things. Space for storage in such a small apartment is very important. To get it, the investors agreed to give up a separate toilet - this allowed to build a kind of cubbyhole, in which the designer cleverly hid capacious cabinets. On both sides, the corridor was built up with furniture - one of the closets even managed to fit a washing machine and a dryer. The walls were lined with wood veneer with beautiful wood grain and dark cladding. The same materials were used in the kitchen, making it seamlessly merge with the hallway and effectively open up to the living room. Resilient quartz sinter appeared on the floor, which can also be seen on the island and the walls in the adjacent kitchenette.

Kitchen
- The kitchenette was supposed to blend in well with the living room and at the same time be slightly removed from it. I think we succeeded one hundred percent in achieving this effect. It occurred to me to cover the kitchenette with a slightly higher than standard countertop. In this way, the kitchen clutter, which willingly or unwillingly arises during the preparation of meals, is not visible from the living room, and the eye is attracted by a striking piece of furniture. In it, behind a perfectly flush door, the most necessary appliances have been hidden - a refrigerator, a high cargo and a storage area that serves as a mini pantry, says architect Daria Wiergowska.
Sitting on the sofa, household members and guests see a simple closet lined with veneer. This is an excellent patent for the cooking area to "lose" its kitchen character and blend nicely into the living room seating area. The annex was arranged in the shape of an L - on the shorter side a cooking zone was created with an induction hob and oven - and on the longer side a dishwashing zone and a large worktop. The longer side in a sense acts as a kitchen island. It has been entirely clad in quartz sintering, which works perfectly in the kitchen.

Living room
- Our idea was for the living room to be drowned in shades of graphite gray and dark wood. These are not easy or safe colors, so we were worried how investors would react to them. Fortunately, they fell in love with these noble shades," says the designer.
They were used in balanced proportions and enlivened with a stronger accent in the form of a burgundy sofa - so the interior is not gloomy, and the colors are beautifully consistent. In the relaxation corner there was room for a TV, which hangs on an anthracite wall. The relaxation area is connected with the dining area - a large, but light wood table has been moved closer to the kitchen island. The household loves to host friends at it, and when needed, it is also used for work.

Bedroom
As befits a place for rest, the bedroom is subdued and ascetic. The central place is occupied by a comfortable upholstered bed with a soft headrest. However, the attention is drawn to the wall behind it - entirely upholstered with quilted panels in beautiful emerald upholstery. You can lean against such a wall while reading - it is warm, nice to the touch and decorates the interior impressively.
