A fresh start

The investors are a married couple with two growing children. The architect's task was to provide space for each of the four household members. So the apartment underwent a major metamorphosis. Both the decor and the functional layout were changed. An additional room was separated from the large dressing room and part of the owners' bedroom. As a result, both boys have their own space at their disposal. The only thing left from the old interior is theblack and white floor in the entrance area.

- The two-story apartment, due to the new needs of the family, required a change in the entire functional layout. From the space available so far, we even had to "conjure" an additional room for the younger son, so that each of the boys had his own private space. So here every centimeter counted, which had to be carefully used. A non-standard, three-meter-high room height came to the rescue, which made it possible to create storage space under the ceiling. Cleverly concealed built-ins also proved indispensable. However, it was not without tearing down the walls ," says Weronika Budzichowska of To Be Design studio.

Clever solutions

Big changes also took place in the living area. The kitchen was closed off. However, we managed to find space in it for a small round table. A dining room is located between the kitchen and living room. The rest area was separated on the other side of the apartment. In order to make optimal use of the space, the architect decided on built-ins. An impressive 3-meter structure was created in the kitchen. Such furniture provides enough space to store all the necessary products and accessories. In the living room area, the built-in is located just behind the sofa. However, it is worth noting the furniture placed in the hallway. The built-in appeared here in place of the removed wall. As a result, it serves a dual function. From the side of the staircase it is a closet, and from the living room it plays the role of a decorative display case.

The art of displaying works of art

The investors love painting. So they wanted there to be room in the interior for their favorite paintings. In order to provide them with a suitable setting, Weronika Budzichowska created a mini gallery in the living area. One of the walls in the living room was devoted to it, which was painted in a shade of deep green. Juxtaposed with numerous potted plants, this color adds freshness to the space. The opposite wall was left white, but stucco was used on it, which, as it were, "dresses" the paintings in frames. Bright colors and wood create a subtle background for the art and warm the space.
