Project of a house on a relatively not large, but extremely charming (at least from the east) plot located in Ruda Śląska. Working on the design of the house with the client presenting various concepts in the form of a storied house with a flat roof, finally, together we came to the conclusion that the ideal solution for the investor would be an atrium house.

Starting from the idea of an atrial house and taking into account all the investor's requirements, as well as the possibilities and parameters of the plot, an open house was created , open to both the inner terrace and the eastern part of the plot developed for a home garden with a view of the neighboring forest.
Despite the severely limited building area on the plot (limitation resulting from the Local Development Plan) to 582sqm, it was possible to develop a large living space on the first floor with an interior terrace isolated from the surroundings (neighbors) and at the same time maintain exposure to the eastern part of the plot bordering the forest.

Interior functional program divided into 2 floors. On the first floor, 3 separate zones - an entrance and technical zone (garage, vestibule, dressing room and technical room, as well as a toilet and pantry), a living zone with a large living room connected to the dining room and kitchen, and a residential zone with a master bedroom, dressing room, bathroom and study.
The livingzones are distributed around a semi-open atrium with a concrete terrace and additionally a pergola with a wooden terrace and a potential outdoor pool. Vertical communication between floors is provided by a single-run built-in (between 2 walls) staircase of 1.1 m gross width.

On the first floor the bedroom area is located and there are two children's rooms with eastern exposure. In addition, there is a guest room, a laundry room and a bathroom. All rooms have access to a covered terrace lying above the first floor.
The project ultimately had to undergo minor changes to improve its parameters in the context of mining damage in the neighborhood.

Long hours spent on consultations and corrections on the investor-architect-constructor line made it possible to preserve the original character of the building, despite significant structural reinforcements.
