Many of us live in small apartments. Sometimes it is a choice, other times a necessity. However, even a studio or a small studio does not have to give the impression of a cramped space. After all, there are many solutions that will make it seem larger.
Optical illusion
Compact apartments are best finished in light colors. White, pastels and grays are ideal. Darker and distinctive shades should be only small decorative accents. The space is also brightened by smooth and glossy surfaces, as they reflect light. However, the key influence on the perception of a small space is the floors.

A material for every room
The best solution for small apartments is always uniform flooring throughout its entire surface. So let's opt for the same material and color. We don't even have to make an exception for bathrooms, because there are solutions that allow installing the same floor even in wet areas. So it's worth going off the beaten track. If the floors are kept in a light color, the interior appears much larger. When the rooms flow seamlessly from one to the other, without additional divisions, one has the impression that this compact space creates a coherent and well-thought-out whole. Similarly, as in the so popular monochromatic loft type interiors, where the frame, i.e. the walls and floor, are usually minimalist and uniform.

Stylish austerity
Small apartments are often a choice dictated by economic considerations. Smaller electricity or gas bills, lower rent. Choosing one flooring material also frees us from many other problems. We don't have to select and search for tiles for the kitchen or hallway, level and supervise successive renovation teams. So by betting on a single flooring material, we reduce installation costs.
