Invariably popular in the design of our residential interiors is the reference to folk design. The idyllic image of life in the countryside makes this style perceived as warm and cozy. It combines simplicity, functionality and natural materials.

Cozy simplicity
This style draws inspiration from the simple elements of country life. It can express itself both in a classic form, with a traditionally rustic character, and be combined with modernity. It is wrong to believe that folk motifs fit only in country houses. The style is based on old, comfortable furniture and fabrics made of natural materials, so properly incorporated will fit into many spaces. The juxtaposition of old and new items will make the interior cozy, but at the same time not overwhelming.
This arrangement will not be threatened by boredom if we successively supplement it with more patterns, colors, textures. Also welcome here is the renewal of furniture on its own, as a result of which a worn-out closet will get new patterns, and an old stool will get refreshed upholstery.

Folkstyle is associated with simplicity and relaxation. It does not require perfection, perfection and perfect order. Even a certain amount of clutter will give the place a bit of character and charm. It seems that the purpose of such decor is to build a refuge, providing solace from the rest less outside world. There will be space for collectibles, cozy corners and unusual solutions.

Walls and floor
Thecolor palette of the folk style is mainly the colors of nature. Soft beiges, ochre and umber appear most often. Pale greens, pastel blues and yellows work well as a background. The walls here will not be pristine, and stamped or hand-painted patterns may appear on them. Up to the middle of its height, it is not uncommon to see wainscoting, which was traditionally intended to protect against splashing, the most vulnerable part.
A versatile flooring solution for folk-style interiors are pine or oak planks. In the kitchen, bathroom, or hallway, stone tiles, terra cotta, or brick will fit. Long rugs or small rugs will appear on them.

Fabrics
Folk stylefabrics are natural fabrics with a simple floral pattern, or a checkered pattern. Characteristically, in the old houses the curtains were relatively short. We can also put doilies made with crochet on the cabinets. A variety of patterns and textures are found here side by side. Beds and sofas are covered with patterned bedspreads finished with tassels, and equally multicolored pillows are arranged on them.
