Architects from Exterio studio have created a luxury single-family home. The White residence is as large as 683 sq m, and the surrounding nature played a major role in its design.

A symbiosis of nature and architecture
The building is located on a one-hectare plot of land. For many years it was overgrown with tall trees, numerous shrubs, wild perennials and grasses. Investors were keen to preserve this self-contained greenery.
- In order to integrate the body of the house into the existing ecosystem, the design work was preceded by a detailed inventory of the layout of trees and shrubs. It was to it that we adjusted the form of the building and its location on the plot," says architect Marcin Klukowski.

Playing green
The house hides behind the trees. Only fragments of it are visible from the street. This allows residents to enjoy privacy.
- Our goal was to create a secluded asylum in this place - to distance the house from the road, isolate it from its surroundings and hide it among the existing greenery," explains the co-owner of the Exterio studio.

Also for this reason, the architects used large glazings that open up the residence to the garden and allow homebuyers to enjoy the surrounding nature. They also provide optimal interior lighting.

In soothing shade
Despite its large size, the building is minimalist. The composition consists of several staggered cuboids. They contain not only rooms, but also open spaces and alcoves. A recurring motif in the design are deep arcades covering the driveway and spacious terraces. Such a solution ensures that in summer the rooms are not exposed to overheating.

The access road with access to the house winds between old trees. The harmonious layout of the simple blocks and their bright facades provide a backdrop for the greenery. A counterbalance to the snow-white walls is the graphite plaster used in the niches and the black window framing. This subdued color scheme is varied by the light wood used on the terraces.

Simple division
The building consists of two floors. One of them has been allocated for the living area, while the other has been arranged as a night zone. On the first floor you will find a living room, kitchen and dining room. This space is surrounded by terraces on as many as three sides! This is where the life of the household members is concentrated. So the designers decided to raise this zone to 1.5 stories (4.5 meters). In the wing furthest from the entrance a bedroom with a spacious dressing room and a bathroom was located. The first floor has been allocated for children's bedrooms and a guest room. The residence also includes a two-car garage and, among others, a study, sauna and gym. The economic zone is located in a completely separate building located at the back of the house. Right next to it an area has been set aside for a garden and a small greenhouse.
