The 1980s house has undergone a major transformation. In the interior, however, there are references to the history of art and design. These threads were skillfully combined by Małgorzata and Andrzej Bacik of MM Architekci studio.
Big changes
The villa's metamorphosis took as long as three years. The entrance was enlarged, the window layout was corrected, the facade was changed and wooden elements were added. Balconies gained new balustrades, and an extensive terrace was created. Major changes were also made to the interior layout. The kitchen was opened to the dining room and living room. Meanwhile, the demolition of a wall between two small rooms made it possible to create a large, comfortable bedroom.

The investors had some clear expectations. The bed was to be 20 cm wider than standard, the living room windows were to be free of curtains, and the kitchen was to be modern. Besides, the house, according to the proposal of Małgorzata Bacik, who took care of the interiors, was to harmoniously combine inspirations from different eras.
The brass balustrade of the staircase is a unique design by Małgorzata Bacik, based on a pattern from a historical engraving. The influence of Viennese Art Nouveau can be clearly seen in it. The necessary balance is introduced by modern objects, headed by a round dining table and sculptural lamps.

Living room filled with design gems
The calm, soothing atmosphere of the living room matches the mood of the entire house. It features carefully selected furniture and accessories representing different periods of the 20th century. Many of them represent the pre-war art déco style and the just post-war Mid-Century Modern style. These include Hollywood Regency style coffee tables, a rosewood dresser on thin legs or a mirror placed on the wall by the stairs. Deeper in, you'll find a neo-Baroque glass chandelier. The painting above the dresser is a composition by Wanda Kosińska-Nowak.

Decorative kitchen
Slightly shiny or delicately patinated gold runs throughout the house, giving it an air of classic elegance. It is also not missing in the original triangular mosaic, composed of black and gold triangles. However, silver also appears here. First of all, in the form of chrome, among others, in the fixtures of decorative lamps. The eye in the kitchen area is also attracted by a phenomenal wallpaper with a flower motif. In the kitchen window appears a Roman blind made of semi-transparent fabric. The smooth material creates a favorable background for the colors and textures of the living room.
