Kitchen and dining room overlooking the greenery

18 of January '24

We have previously presented the private area of the more than 320-square-meter house. Today we take a look at the kitchen and dining room designed by Agnieszka Zaremba and Magdalena Kostrzewa-Świątek of Tissu Architecture.

In unity with nature

Situated in a forested area, wrapped in greenery, the building provides peace and quiet. Harmony with the surroundings is created by large glazings, which open the house to the soothing nature. Every room is connected to the picturesque landscape from behind the windows and allows to contemplate changing seasons. The proximity to nature is also emphasized by the interior design.

- When we set to work on this project, we knew that it had to form an inseparable whole with the surrounding landscape. After all, the qualities of this interior are somewhat paradoxically located outside. The challenge was to keep the surrounding landscape inside, so as to provide similar sensations and emotions as those we experience when communing with nature - describe architects.

A meeting place

The spacious dining room and the kitchen, discreetly hidden behind it, seamlessly connect to the living room. The formal boundary between the two spaces is marked by a bio-fireplace installed in the floor. A glass installation is suspended above it. In turn, right next to it is a glass staircase, behind which a TV wall is hidden. The dining room itself is subdued. It is dominated by subtle shades of gray, natural materials and impressive lighting. It's a place made for spending time with family and friends, so the focal point is a large table that can accommodate up to 10 people.

Practical minimalism

A quick meal or morning coffee can be consumed at the spacious island, which separates the dining area from the kitchen. Thanks to the white, smooth surfaces of the built-in fronts, the kitchen subtly blends into the background. The number of cabinets has been kept to a minimum. However, it doesn't mean that there is no space for storing all the necessary kitchen accessories. They are stored in a pantry that is hidden behind doors integrated into the sequence of high built-in units. The entire space is wrapped in white marble, tying the kitchen space and the open living area together stylistically.
