The small, 35-square-meter apartment was purchased with renting in mind. Investors were keen to create a compact interior ready for living with a relatively small outlay.

Small area, big challenge
Taking into account the small area, it was assumed that one or two young people would live here. It was to their tastes that the entire space was arranged. Hence the interiors are bright, spacious and very modern. However, before they became such, architect Marta Krukowska from the Mano studio had to carry out thorough changes in the functional layout. These were already carried out on the developer's plan, thus avoiding additional renovation work.
- We bricked up the bedroom door and knocked out the opening between the rooms. This gave the apartment more light. Despite such a small area, with the right color scheme and glazing, you can feel the space," explains Marta Krukowska.

Loft inspirations
The interior is dominated by bright colors, which optically enlarge it. Fashionable loft grays give it a youthful character. They are complemented by black accessories typical for this style. Thus, the floor is gray here, the kitchen buildings in the form of an annex and a practical sofa with a sleeping function. To this, black straight chairs, an RTV cabinet with reflective glass fronts, industrial lighting and high transparency curtains have been selected. The whole is warmed by a wooden table, which the designer managed to make at her own expense. The furnishings, which are kept to a minimum, make there more space. Large windows illuminate the interior, while glass surfaces and panes of mirrors further multiply it. The latter decorate the fronts of the cabinets, which, as the designer intended, provide storage space.

The detail matters
Since the apartment was decorated for rent, there are not many extras. Future residents will personalize it themselves, adding an individual touch. However, this does not mean that there is a lack of decorative details. There are, and they serve a dual function - not only decorate, but are also a practical accessory. An example is the decorative radiator in the living area, which has replaced the standard models offered by developers. Thanks to its form, it has become not only a source of heat, but also a significant design element.
-Whenever I manage to convince the Investor to change the radiator from those that are in the developer's offer, each time I try to choose a model that will fit well in the designed interior and look impressive," says the architect.
