Modern apartment in an old building

The new does not at all have to conflict with the old. Often the most interesting realizations, full of unique climate, are those that are created in old walls. In a small forty-meter apartment in the center of Wroclaw, the KODO studio tried to combine modern character with traditional atmosphere.

The apartment is located in a building built at the beginning of the 20th century. The living area consists of a kitchen, bedroom, dining room and living room. Next to it a bathroom was decided. It was important here to take advantage of the small space and also to use high ceilings.

The element that gives a traditional character to the whole interior is primarily the floor consisting of dark brown parquet laid in a herringbone pattern. In an interesting way, the kitchen building was solved. Three materials are the king here. The lower fronts are classic wood painted white with milling that gives the kitchen a calm character. Higher up we find quartz sinter imitating marble. The upper part of the development is cabinets upholstered with mirrors, which optically enlarge the interior.

As for the part of the zone where the dining room is, here we find a table composed of a dark brown top and metal legs. Classic chairs made of dark wood are combined with gray upholstery. The lamp also has a minimalist character. Just next to it you will find an area with a sofa, a workspace and a bed. It's worth noting how illuminated these interiors are with large clear windows. Under the TV, the wooden cabinet in particular catches the eye. Behind the sofa you will find a bed with a high gray headrest. Next to it, white closets reaching the ceiling were located. A minimalist metal desk for remote work is located right next to this space.

Classic toilet

In the toilet you'll find a similar color tone as in the kitchen. Above all, white quartz sinters imitating marble, minimalist cabinetry and white, ceiling-high furniture with characteristic milling are relied on here.
