A bit of theory
There are three main types of lighting to keep in mind when designing a room:
- Ambient lighting - general light. By putting the lamp in a central place, we will get the effect of an interesting point of light, which, however, will not be as strong as with ceiling lamps, giving the interior a unique atmosphere.
- Task lighting - for work. Lamps placed next to armchairs or sofas, that is, where we will need a good, but not glaring light for reading.
- Accent lighting - to draw attention to features of the room, such as interesting corners or artwork. A great place for floor lamps that perform this function is also the corners of the room. They illuminate them, optically enlarging the room.
Floor lamps can successfully prove themselves as any type of lighting and perform all three tasks - separately or simultaneously.
Mobility is an additional advantage
Such a useful decoration can be easily moved from one place to another when the arrangement becomes boring for us. At the same time, they are expressive enough furniture, so that a change in their position will completely change the appearance of the space - Moving their light streams to new corners can give a whole new atmosphere

Practical tripod
Lamps, although often significantly different from each other, have one thing in common: their base has a design more or less similar to a tripod. In addition to the fact that this looks simply great, it is also very practical, especially for owners of small children and pets - such a lamp is much more stable. Some tripods are additionally equipped with height adjustment elements.

Unusual metamorphoses
Lampshades made of natural materials - linen, cotton, or raffia braid - are becoming more and more fashionable, but when it comes to material and color - the range is really wide. In fact, having a tripod, we often have the option of replacing the lampshade itself with another one. This is a simple and cost-effective way to bring novelty to the interior design. Tip: using a square shade, you can place the floor lamp flush with the wall or in an alcove saving a lot of space. Try it out - you'll be surprised what a difference even changing the shade of a lampshade in a room can make.
