Relaxation zone

An outdoor relaxation area is the heart of any garden. To ensure that this corner actually provides tranquility, arrange it at the back of the house, away from the street and neighboring buildings. This way you will ensure your privacy. If you do not have such an option, try to isolate this space. All sorts of walls, shade nets, hedges and tall plants such as ornamental grasses, ivies, wilt, grapes, roses will help. When choosing climbing plants, remember to install a wooden trellis or pergola. The surface of the rest area should be paved, so that you can easily place furniture or a barbecue on it. You can use planks, stone slabs or architectural concrete for this. The rest corner should be equipped with lighting. This way you will be able to comfortably spend time outside even after dark. The most popular garden lamps are solar models or plugged into the home electrical system. To extend the barbecue season, install special radiant heaters in the lounge area. Thanks to them you will spend a pleasant time in the garden, even when mornings and evenings are already starting to get chilly. You can choose from electric or gas versions.

Part of this zone can also become a small playground. It is worth, arranging it in such a place that when using it, the children will be within your sight. You can put a pool there, which will be a combination of fun and refreshment. A trampoline will also be a great idea, which will get the kids moving. However, remember to invest in sturdy equipment with a stable and durable structure. In addition, you can equip your mini playground with a sandbox, a swing and even a tree house.

Work zone

In a home garden, it's also a good idea to designate a work zone. This is a place where you can create a place to store your bicycles and put a tool cabinet and fuel stash. You can also put there any excess accessories you want to have around, such as sports equipment. For storage in the garden, choose furniture that is durable and resistant to damage and harmful weather conditions. Remember to plan the work zone in such a place that you don't have to see and smell it. This is because this part of the garden is usually also where garbage cans for sorting waste are placed.

If you have enough space in your garden, it would be a shame not to use it to create a vegetable garden. Ripening vegetables and fruits will please both the eye and the palate. Also plant aromatic herbs such as mint, which will deter mice and ants. To separate the growing area, separate this part of the garden with a fence or low fence.

Separating zones

The different parts of the garden should be clearly separated from each other. The first way to do this is to mark out paths. Don't be afraid to take full advantage of the garden before creating them. This will allow you to observe naturally trodden paths and set a communication grid. The most important thing is to line the paths with a material that will distinguish them from the rest of the garden, as well as ensure safe movement. For this you can use colored gravel, wooden platforms, stone or paving stones. Concrete will be an ideal choice for those who are looking for a solution that is easy to keep clean. Nature lovers are sure to appreciate the subtle charm of bark.

The most natural way to divide space in the garden is, of course, plants. You can create walls of greenery with a linear planting of trees. One species will create a cohesive composition, however, different types will diversify the space. Walls of climbing plants are an interesting solution. However, these plants by themselves will not create a screen. They require supports in the form of pergolas, trellises or arbors. You can also divide the different zones of the garden with ingeniously planned flowerbeds. The most popular solution, however, are hedges. Their advantage is that they form a compact mass. However, they require regular maintenance. To create a hedge, boxwood, beech, hornbeam, ligustrum and yew will work best. Vertical structures in the garden can also form walls or wood. Cement blocks and gabions, which are very popular metal structures filled with stones, will also work great. The main thing is that the material from which these structures will be made should be durable and weatherproof.

What materials to use?

You can separate the different zones with edging and curbs. It is important to use high-quality materials for this, so as to ensure the stability of these small structures. This is only possible if you properly prepare the ground. To do this, mark out the specific place where the path or decorative paving is to be located, and then level it accordingly. It is best to use a string or a laser level to mark out such places. Garden edging allows you to mark out divisions in fancy shapes. With their help you can create wavy borders and rounded beds. In addition, they make it easier to fill the space with finishing material, such as bark or decorative grit. If you want to use bark, remember that it tends to move. Therefore, larger edging should be used. A high curb will work best. You can also separate individual sections of the garden with stones or rubber or plastic palisades. An original idea is to delineate zones in the garden with water. Streams will not only perfectly emphasize the divisions, but also add charm to the space. However, be sure to take into account the water supply.
