Chair made of waste designed by Polish designer|PdD

The circular economy and closed-loop products are the hope for a clean and better tomorrow. A perfect example of this is a chair made from precipitation designed by Wojciech Mierzwa.

The chair was made from recycled material

The ANTROPO chair is an example of a new category of circular products. It was made with 3D printing technology using advanced robotics and modern recycled material. The plastic is sourced from waste wood and biopolymers. It contains about 50% wood fibers, has a wood smell and is reusable. It is thanks to the use of this material that the product has a chance to enter the closed loop of the circular economy. ANTROPO is also available in a version made of plastic harvested from old fishing nets fished from the Baltic Sea.

Wojciech Mierzwa a Polish industrial design designer is responsible for the project. He graduated in industrial design from Koszalin Technical University and studied at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences - SeAMK (Finland). His designs power the collections of brands such as BORCAS, SCULPTUR and DOKI. He has also presented his works at many exhibitions abroad and at home, including the London Design Festival, Helsinki Design Week, IMM Cologne, Warsaw Home and ISH Frankfurt. He is the founder of METAFOR design studio, working closely with domestic manufacturers of furniture and specialized equipment.

Antropo was created in cooperation with the Swedish company SCULPTUR. Wojciech Mierzwa's chair is first and foremost a fine design, from which we can easily read the production process. The flowing lines of the back and seat and the circular profile of the chair refer to the philosophy of closed circulation. The gently concave seat and contoured backrest are inviting and appear comfortable. The springiness of the material, its scent and ergonomics create a humanistic piece of furniture whose three dimensions are modernity, humanity and ecology.

The chair is completely biodegradable

- It's an object that contains human ergonomics in its shape and made just for the sake of it. The result of the whole process of our evolution. The result of human skill, robotics and technological advancement, which we have been coming to for centuries. There is modernity and humanism in it. It is an object on a human scale, shy of the artifacts that define the ages. The word "anthropo" lies in the essence of this chair - says Wojciech Mierzwa.
