Tranquility, breath, natural materials, soft light and coziness - this is how the most important features of the Dutch style could be described in a nutshell. It is this aesthetic that Agnieszka Musiał-Chmielnik, owner of the author's interior design studio Musiał Studio, has decided on.
Light and space with a hint of retro
The architect designed the arrangement of a two-level house of 140 square metersfor her investors. The interiors of the house, which is about 20 years old, were created to meet the needs of a family of three with a growing daughter. The body of the house is very interesting and varied, there are as many as 11 rooms in total. The investors did not want to decorate their house in a too modern style. They were open to wallpapers, textures and colors, and they also wanted to expose memorabilia. The choice of a slightly sentimental Dutch style turned out to be a hit. At the same time, the clients wanted to preserve space in the interiors and illuminate them well. For this reason, the architect decided to use whitewashed wooden floors throughout the house. Such a treatment definitely brightened up the interiors and added lightness. A big asset of the house is also the large windows, through which a lot of light comes in.

Living room
In the living room, a tall open bookcase was placed around the TV , which also masks the staircase. The investors have thus gained plenty of space for setting souvenirs. In the corner is a traditional fireplace, which was clad in brick from demolition. The focal point of the lounge area is a spacious, comfortable sofa upholstered in brick-colored velour. The architect matched it with a contrasting black armchair with footstool. Eye-catching accents are a large round chandelier suspended from the high ceiling and an abstract painting hung high on the wall.

Dining room
Adjacent to the living room is a dining room connected to the kitchen. The color of the chair upholstery around the table corresponds to the lounge area. In turn, the walls are kept in an elegant navy blue color scheme. They are varied by wallpaper with a floral motif, which was laid in stucco. The sentimental nature of the interior is emphasized by two elegant glass display cases. They display ceramic tableware in a retro climate.

Bedroom
The parents' bedroom was kept in neutral white and beige tones. The somewhat rustic, soothing character of the interior is emphasized by woven textiles in natural colors. There was also plenty of storage space, thanks to the built-in mirrored closet.

Bathroom
The bright bathroom on the first floor is kept in a timeless yet quite modern style. The walls are covered with white three-dimensional tiles imitating stone. The bathroom has a separate space for a walk-in shower. Small under-counter sinks with soft finish lines were also selected.

Daughter's room
On the first floor there is also a very spacious daughter's room, dominated by shades of pink and wood. One of the walls is covered with a structured wallpaper with a distinctive floral pattern in pink and navy blue. The laminated woodwork imitating knotty wood is also an interesting touch. In a cozy room full of textiles, in addition to a sleeping area and a study corner, there is also a comfortable lounge area with a small pink sofa, a table and a piano.

Daughter's bathroom
A stylistic extension of the daughter's zone is the bathroom, which is kept in a slightly more modern style than the one downstairs. The color scheme here is dominated by two colors of tiles: beige and light pink. They are complemented by white structured tiles and wood-like built-ins. Oval-shaped mirrors and lamps further emphasize the bathroom's soft forms. They were matched with an under-counter washbasin, which fits perfectly into the minimalist arrangement.

Cabinet
Bricks reminiscent of those on the fireplace appear in the investor's minimalist industrial office. The centerpiece of this interior is a massive desk with a wooden top. Helmets on the wall reveal the client's passion for motorcycles.
