Combination of pomegranate and wood in a detached house near Wroclaw, Poland

16 of August '22

The more than 100-square-meter interior was tailored to meet the expectations of a family with two children. For the design of the house located in Zębice, the architect opted for the leading color scheme of navy blue and wood, which warms up the arrangement and gives it a cozy feel.

Olga Nowosad-Szewców, an architect from the Decoroom studio, is responsible for the project. She managed to create a distinctive arrangement in each room, while maintaining a coherent character of the interior. The house is divided into a living and a sleeping area. The former is located on the first floor, while the latter is on the first floor. The guiding color of the entire house is precisely applied navy blue, which appears in both smaller elements and larger areas. The open space on the first floor houses the kitchen, dining room, living room and a small bathroom with shower. Although stylistically they are very consistent with each other, the architect has set subtle but clear boundaries between each room through central elements that define each zone. The floors in the living space are covered with wooden panels and floor tiles.

Kitchen and dining area

The focal point of the kitchen is an island equipped with practical side shelves. Subdued colors were used here: gray, white, brown, a little black and navy blue. As in the rest of the room, inspiration from nature is clearly visible here. However, they were used in a modern, minimalist way. The dining area is marked by a wooden table along with velourchairs in a distinct shade of navy blue.

Living room zone

The living room features an elegant dark sofa. The arrangement is complemented by a TV and a fireplace covered with decorative tiles in a gray shade. They refer to the floor covering. The background for the TV is interesting and elegant. It was made of wood slats, which can also be seen in other rooms. The living area also features a door with a concealed frame, which works well with the whole interior design. Heading to the first floor, our attention is drawn to the bars decorating the stairs, which are led from the floor up to the lintel. They serve as a railing and are a distinctive decoration.

Bedroom

Located on the first floor, the parents' bedroom has an open dressing room with a large mirror. The arrangement catches the eye with a romantic wall mural, referring to the streets of Paris. As on the first floor, a warm shade of wood, grays, white and the investors' favorite color - navy blue dominate here. This hue can be found on the curtains, as well as the pouffe and bed headboard made of velour.

Children's rooms

Both rooms have been tailored to the needs of each little household member. Children's bedrooms are friendly, despite the classic white walls. This effect was achieved with vinyl wallpaper with images of animals. A universal color scheme was used in the interiors, so that there will be no problem with changing the arrangement when the children grow up. Plenty of storage space for toys has been designed in both rooms.

Bathroom

The bath room is stylistically and colorfully consistent with the other rooms. Elegant minimalism and references to nature reign here. The floor is covered with gray tiles, while white tiles with a marble effect were placed on the walls. There are two minimalist washbasins on a wooden cabinet. The wall above is decorated with a huge and practical mirror. Of course, the bathroom could not miss the leading color in the whole house - navy blue. The architect placed it in the shower area in the form of ceramic tiles. Thanks to this it was possible to aesthetically separate this zone in the bathroom.
