Perhaps we have already heard somewhere about central vacuum cleaning systems, known as - "central vacuum cleaner". Such an invention can be a great solution for our home. It is worth thinking about it even before we start renovation or construction. However, will this vacuum cleaner be better for us than traditional vacuum cleaners? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this solution and in which houses it will bring the greatest benefits - we suggest.

What is a central vacuum cleaner?
Central vacuuming systems work through a centrally located, suction-generating unit. The system's motor and trash can are usually located away from the main living areas, usually in a basement, garage or storage room. A central vacuum cleaner contains a system of tubes hidden in the walls of the house. This tubing system connects to a motor-driven suction unit and a central dirt bin. The tubing system also connects to vacuum wall openings located throughout the house. When we need a vacuum cleaner, all we have to do is plug the long hose into a wall outlet and turn on the system. With the help of the hose, dirt and debris sucked in, travel to the hidden duct system and then down to the dirt container. The motor and collection container of a central vacuuming system are stationary, but in a traditional central vacuuming system, the hose used for vacuuming must be moved from room to room. When not in use, the hose is stored in a closet or other invisible location. The number of wall ports installed can vary, but there is usually at least one wall port per floor.
The central vacuum system should be maintained by cleaning the central dirt container and filter about once or twice a year. This is very little work compared to traditional vacuum cleaners, which require regular replacement of filters or dirt bags.
What are the advantages of central vacuuming?

They allow us to collect debris swept with a standard broom directly into the central vacuum system. They are mounted under cabinets or in baseboards and can be attached without having to bend down.

What about the disadvantages of the system?
- Central vacuuming systems are expensive compared to most portable vacuum cleaners. The price is as much as five thousand zlotys - it will vary depending on the size and durability of the unit, the number of wall ports, hoses, connectors and accessories you decide on.
- Although we won't have to carry the vacuum cleaner and cord, if we decide to buy a central vacuum cleaner, we will still have to drag the relatively long hose with us when vacuuming. It could potentially scratch or damage walls, corners or pieces of furniture.
- Central vacuuming systems are generally less energy efficient than traditional vacuum cleaners
Alternative
What if the floors in our house or apartment are mostly tile, wood, stone, or we don't have the square footage to make installing a central system cost-effective? An interesting idea is to use an alternative to the dustpan itself connected to the central system. There are such built-in vacuum cleaners on the market, which, like traditional vacuum cleaners, have garbage bags. Thus, we can easily sweep the apartment with a broom and pick up trash with such a dustpan.
