Bio-fireplace - a modern source of heat

14 of November '22

The bio-fireplace is an increasingly popular alternative to the traditional fireplace. This is because it allows you to enjoy the unique glow of the fire, without having to connect the device to a chimney or gas connection.

Eco-friendly alternative

A bio-fireplace is a fireplace powered by biofuel in liquid or gel form. The product of burning bioethanol is water vapor and carbon dioxide, which is exactly the same mixture of gases that we produce when we breathe. As a result, you also don't have to worry about getting blackened. These types of devices also do not produce smoke, fumes or ash. So they are a great choice for anyone who cares about the environment. Some of the models have a flame height control function. The aromatherapy function is also an interesting solution. The bio-fireplace itself does not emit a scent, but after adding essential oils to the hearth, a beautiful fragrance will waft through the room.

Is it possible to heat the house with a bio-fireplace?

A bio-fireplace will work well in autumn and winter, when you need to reheat the room. The efficiency of a bio-fireplace is about 3 kW. This compares with 1.5-2 kW for a room heater, while a closed wood-burning fireplace is between 5 and 16 kW. 1 kW of heating power is enough to heat a 10-square-meter area. A traditional fireplace equipped with a water mantle can heat a house. However, due to the need for refueling and low heat storage capacity, bio-fireplaces will not perform such a function. They can warm up a room, but they will not be an independent source of heat.

Aesthetic warmth

Bio-fireplaces usually have a minimalist style, which will be perfect installed in a modern and industrial apartment. It is worth thinking carefully about what material will be used for its outer casing, keeping in mind not only the aesthetic aspect, but also the functional one. Ideal for this will be quartz sinter. This material has a very wide range of applications and excellent technical parameters. In addition, it is available in many different appearances. In a small room, a free-standing model will work, which can be placed anywhere. An interesting solution is also a bio-fireplace designed for mounting in the wall.
