Between Japan and Scandinavia
The term japandi refers to a combination of Japanese and Scandinavian design influences. Together, they create minimalist and functional decor. Japandi focuses on natural materials, muted colors and clean lines, meant to promote well-being. The style is therefore ideally suited for a bedroom, which is meant to be an oasis of calm.

Playing with textures
The room is dominated by warm, light colors and wood. It is from this material that the bed was made, as well as the wall behind its headboard, connected to the door to the hidden closet. In the bedroom, the smooth surfaces of wood, stone and the sheet of a large mirror with organic shapes are perfectly combined. A gentle contrast of textures can be seen in the grooves on the decorative TV wall, the braided carpet and the soft, lambskin upholstery of the armchairs, which, thanks to their streamlined shapes, blend perfectly with the interior.

The magic of simplicity
- Japandi style is all about simplicity, and especially in the bedroom there should be as few distractors as possible. Therefore, although a TV is placed in the room, it is in vain to look for unnecessary decorations there. The same goes for colors - the only color accents are black lighting elements and a lamp. However, since nature is important in this style, an olive tree in a large stone vase became a perfect addition. Although subdued, an interior in the japanese style does not have to be boring - however, it is important to provide contrast with, among other things, the textures of the materials used, says the author of the project, architect Paulina Boruch of the SCENA Interior Design studio.
