Apartment in the center of Gdansk

22 of November '22

The apartment designed by Monika Wierzba-Krygiel has an area of 50 square meters and is located in the very center of Gdansk. It was created by dividing a large apartment into two smaller units.

The interior consists of a living room with a kitchenette, a bedroom, a bathroom and a balcony with a magnificent view of the Gdansk Old Town and the NOT Technician's House building. The project was intended to be a holiday apartment for discerning guests who appreciate comfort and simple interiors. However, after the completion of the project, the investor could not part with it and her daughter moved in.

- "Working on the apartment was a great pleasure. This was already another project carried out by me for a demanding investor who appreciates feminine interiors. The rather unusual layout conditioned by the earlier division of the large apartment into smaller units resulted in the lack of a typical entrance area. Instead, one enters directly into the living room from the staircase. I proposed an arrangement of furniture that allows for maximum intimacy and the possibility of convenient storage of things, since the lack of a storage cell forces the storage of everything in the apartment. A huge asset of the interior is the amazing view from the windows and balconies, which I wanted to maximize. I also tried to make sure that as much furniture and accessories as possible came from Polish manufacturers," - Monika Wierzba-Krygiel described.

The idea of the apartment design was simple, timeless elegance complemented by natural materials, Polish design and floral accents. Theminimalist color scheme in grays and whites is complemented by strong color accents on the furniture and wallpaper in the bedroom, and broken by oak furniture from Polish manufacturers.

The heart of the apartment is the kitchen with an island, which encourages cooking together. The dining table offers a view of the Old Town. The gray kitchen furniture is delicately highlighted and fitted with brass handles. The living room with an eggplant sofa is a place for rest and relaxation. From it you can go out to a large balcony, where there is lounge furniture. The bedroom has a large bed with an oak headboard and a very capacious closet with a bookcase.A small bathroom with an oak and white color scheme is complemented by a strong accent in the form of tiles with a floral pattern in the shower.
