Health first and foremost

Before you start packing your plants, it's a good idea to discern their condition. Plants that have been attacked by a disease should be separated for transport, so as not to infect the healthy ones. So we should not stack these flowers in one cardboard box, for example. From some specimens occupied by pests, it would be a good idea to simply give up when moving.

Let's also take care of the pots

Decorative pots are sometimes bulky and very heavy. If we have the opportunity, a few weeks in advance it is worth considering repotting plants that have insecure pots that can break in transport. The flowers will have time to calmly adapt to the new substrate. After a week of this activity, it is worth reviewing carefully whether their leaves are not fading or drooping. If so, you should seek the help of a specialist.

Just before the trip

A few hours before setting out on the road, flowers should be watered. However, do not overdo the amount of water, they should only be moistened.

It will be important to divide the plants by size, which will make further packing easier. Smaller specimens can be wrapped in paper and placed one next to the other in a box or a tall cardboard box, but so that there is no risk of them falling over each other. It's a good idea to make small holes in the cardboard box to provide the plants with an air supply, and to sign the boxes, which will help us be vigilant when unpacking packages with more sensitive specimens. We can fill the free space between the plants with newspapers.

Small plants are little trouble, with large ones we will have a little more work. This is because you need to secure the soil in the pots so that it does not spill out, for example, by wrapping them in cling film, and also gently tie the protruding branches together so that they do not break.

Help in transporting plants

We can outsource the transportation of plants to a transport company that has experience in transporting all sorts of things. They will certainly be able to take care of comfortable conditions for the plants as well. If we are moving them to another country, it is important to remember that in the case of protected plants, we will need a special permit to transport them.
