Marcin Tyszka's Terrace in Urban Jungle Style

11 of August '22

Evergreen and fragrant. Such is the terrace of Marcin Tyszka. The photographer designed it himself, and was inspired by tropical plants and his favorite cities: Miami, Barcelona and Lisbon.

A private oasis

Marcin Tyszka is one of the most recognizable and talented photographers in Poland, who specializes in the fashion industry. His photographs have appeared numerous times in major magazines such as Vogue, Harper "s Bazaar andVanityFair, and he has been posed by celebrities such as Naomi Campbell, Anja Rubik and Elizabeth Hurley. The Top Model juror is also involved in... designing greenery. The photographer has a great weakness for plants. In particular, exotic ones. On his terrace there are more than two thousand species!

I love plants as much as I love photography and fashion. I know more about southern, exotic species than Polish greenery architects. For several years now, greenery design has become my new job, and a passion that gives me satisfaction. I create beautiful green oases for clients, but mine had to be the most beautiful and unique.

International inspirations

The arrangement is inspired by life in southern countries. The photographer's taste was shaped by life in Spain, Portugal, travels in South America and Morris Lapidus - the iconic architect who gave shape to old Miami.

I'm a member of the Soho House Hotel - I love the style. Each hotel is such an Urban Jungle: in the middle of the city, with an insane rooftop garden. All the elements are retro - you actually don't know if they were created now or if they come from the golden era of Hollywood. I also remember my first trips to Miami. I'm also very close to Cuba, where colonial style was combined with 1950s modernism.

In Palm Beach style

The space located on the 8th floor was designed using Westwing Collection products. The entire space is maintained in shades of white and cream color. The centerpiece of the terrace is comfortable seating, where you can sit back and enjoy the beautiful view. The photographer opted for bamboo loungers, which are reminiscent of colonial mansions in the Caribbean. They were juxtaposed with a set in the modernist style of the 1960s. The whole is complemented by retro umbrellas, which create an amazing mood. Vintage furniture and, above all , design from the 50s, 60s is one of Marcin Tyszka's biggest inspirations. He appreciates them for their classic form and unique soul. The tropical and cheerful, yet cozy arrangement is complemented by carefully selected accessories. Carefully selected plants perfectly blend with the architectural elements. The lounge furniture is decorated with a mass of colorful pillows. A round, white and yellow carpet adds a sunny touch to the arrangement. Meanwhile, a bar table with designer table ware emphasizes the friendly and open atmosphere of this unique meeting place.
