The table is for many of us the most important piece of furniture in the house. It constitutes its heart, sets the rhythm of the day of the inhabitants. Around it goes the life of family members. It is here that loved ones gather for meals together, it is here that they have long nightly chats, and sometimes heated discussions and explanations. It is also the one that serves as a place for work and play. In a word, the table has to endure a lot. And at the same time, it would do well to look its best.
It is worth investing in a solid piece of furniture, one that is stable and practical. Depending on the type of interior, we can choose a designer, classic, or antique or old-style. In order for everyone to use it in full comfort, it would be good to have about 60 cm wide and 40 cm deep top. Its height is also of great importance. Most conveniently it would be between 75 and 80 cm. In detail, however, this will be a very individual issue.

Round, oval or angular?
The choice of tables is huge. So deciding which one to opt for is not easy. Meanwhile, it is often a choice made for many years. So it is worth betting on a model that will be functional, but also become a showpiece of our home. The main issue is its top - round, oval, rectangular or square. Or perhaps, for the style of our interior, a more unusual one, such as a rhombus shape, will be appropriate?
Round tables probably have the most amazing aura. They are pleasantly associated with morning coffee drinking, in an unhurried atmosphere. They are functional and practical in use. They emphasize the equality of the people sitting at them. Tables with a folding function have a visible connection on the top, which unfortunately disturbs their uniformity. At the same time, this option allows for more seating.
Oval tops give the interior a warm atmosphere, and are also able to accommodate many people. They are a practical choice in homes where young children spend time, as there are no sharp edges, which reduces the risk of accidents during play.
Rectangular tables are easy to incorporate into most homes. They will look good placed both in the center of the living room or dining room, creating a representative place, ideal for social gatherings, or squatted against the wall, they will create an intimate atmosphere, friendly to spending time with the family. They will also work well as a worktop. It will also help us save space.

Table for a small interior
Large interiors offer endless design possibilities. However, in small spaces, the choice of each piece of furniture must be carefully considered. A round table will optically enlarge the room. It will also seat more people. A rectangular table, on the other hand, creates the possibility to move it closer to the wall, thus saving some space. Still popular are folding tables, which will make it easier for us to organize meetings in a larger group of people.
An antique table in a modern interior
Antique table
In addition to fulfilling its role, it is an excellent decoration for a living room or dining room. Properly matched to the character of the interior, sometimes complemented by sophisticated accessories in a similar style, it conquers the impression of the whole and gives it a coherent expression. Modern design, allows combining the new with the old. Therefore, we can cover an aged stone table top with a glass surface, and compose a wooden table with metal chairs, for example. For houses maintained in the classical style, a table supported by carved legs, alb dark wood juxtaposed with chairs with leather upholstery will be a great solution.
...And vice versa, that is, about the modern table
In rustic or vintage interiors, on the other hand, we can afford to include modern elements. Sometimes this will completely change the character of our homes and make them more eclectic, but sometimes it will only tastefully accent the space. For example, all-metal tables or definite angular shapes will work here. In Scandinavian interiors, solutions in light wood, supported by metal frames or radially spreading legs are fashionable.
Minimalist set
Consistent minimalism
For modernist and modern interiors, tables made of laminated MDF will be suitable. Among them you will find those finished in high gloss, corresponding well with glass elements and chrome details. Glass tops will also find their way in. True, they require frequent maintenance, but they add lightness to the interior and make it optically larger. In glamour style, we can combine them with seats finished with soft velour upholstery.

Consistent loft
If loft, then also an industrial table. So massive, combining wood with steel elements. Or maybe with glass? Maybe even with stained glass? Or an artfully crafted composition of the top using epoxy resin? Certainly, there will be elements that harmonize with raw concrete, a brick wall or a post-industrial lampstand.
