Dark, strong colors, raw concrete warmed by navy blue and significant arrangement details. This is how a small apartment designed by Marta Krukowska of Mano studio looks like.
With a masculine character
The investor is an active professional and full of sports passion man. He wanted his apartment to have character, so he decided on a loft style. The very choice of location of the 45-square-meter apartment was not accidental. Situated near a river, with a picturesque landscape that spreads out through high windows, it is conducive to relaxing at home and exercising outdoors. Hence, the main design consideration was to adapt the space to the owner's lifestyle.

Small space, lots of storage
Not only the location, but also the development layout of the apartment was attractive. The architect actually had to make only cosmetic adjustments. Two rooms with a kitchenette and a small bathroom fully meet the investor's needs, while providing enough storage space.
- Already at the development stage one could see the care taken for storage space in such a small area. This is undoubtedly the biggest asset of this apartment," reveals Marta Krukowska.

In the entrance area, the developer took care of recesses. They house closets for outerwear and built-in closets, hiding all necessary equipment. The alcove also houses a kitchenette, which effectively blends into the living room-dining room arrangement. The whole blends perfectly with the style of the interior, without being conspicuous. The bedroom and bathroom, on the other hand, required a minor adjustment.
- In the bedroom, by moving the entrance to the bedroom to the side of the room, we cleared space for a large closet. We also adjusted a really small bathroom for a shower cubicle, which, thanks to the folding accordion door, fit perfectly into the space," says the designer.

Interior puzzle
The advantages of the functional layout of the apartment are emphasized by the loft style chosen at the owner's request, already mentioned. Hence the concrete floor, to which the designer suggested navy blue accessories. This allowed to warm up the interiors, which are kept in the palette of black and gray, without disturbing their definite masculine character. In addition to the concrete cladding, you will also findfurniture, lighting and accessories characteristic of the guiding style. Perfect examples of this are the eye-catching wallpaper behind the bed in the bedroom and the black ceramics and fixtures in the bathroom. The latter play a significant role in the design, setting the rhythm of the arrangement and cementing it into a visually cohesive whole.
- The black radiators, which are perfect for both loft and simple, minimalist interiors, were a perfect match for the interior design. What's more, the radiator drew us a line for the chairs. This is how, element by element, the puzzle came together for us," explains Marta Krukowska.
