What is Venetian plaster
Venetian plaster is a decorative technique for ceilings and especially walls, which dates back to 15th-century Venice, when molding and carving played a major role in achieving unique ornamentation. It is also known as wall stucco, whose finish and texture resemble polished marble.
In the past and today
Traditionally, the surface of Venetian plaster achieved its effect through the use of unique materials applied to the walls by a skilled craftsman. Today, the products offered by manufacturers have made it possible for do-it-yourselfers to achieve similar results in just a few steps and without special training. What's more, modern products contain acrylic polymers that provide a more durable surface. Cheaper products are thick paint with additives, but the best Venetian plaster contains real marble dust mixed with an acrylic base.
Because of its resistance and durability, this technique is often used in corridors

Exclusive accent - where to use
Although Venetian plaster can be used outdoors, it is most often used for interior decoration. The rooms where this technique is most often found are hallways, living rooms and bathrooms. In addition to being visually appealing, stucco is also extremely durable and easy to clean. Although it is possible to cover all the walls, we recommend using it on one to enhance the visual effect. Another tip is that the wall on which you decide to apply Venetian plaster should be a darker color than the rest of the walls.
It's a little less common to see this technique in bedrooms, although it's a really good idea - we can add it to our roster of interesting wall decorations behind the bed. In this case, lighter tones dominate. Colors such as white, beige or gray stand out and give a new style to the main wall of the bedroom so that the whole interior gets a cozy, yet elegant character.
