Is it worth investing in a home sauna?

09 of March '22

Ahome sauna is a luxury that more and more of us can afford. In addition to its positive effects on health, it can also be an interesting form of rest and relaxation without having to leave the house. However, before we dissolve into dreams, let's check some information that can influence our decision.

What is a home sauna

Asauna is a heated, enclosed room lined with natural, unpainted wood with many different seating options. It comes in a variety of shapes and capacities. The intense heat generated in a sauna promotes detoxification, pain relief and deep relaxation. And that's just a fraction of the benefits it provides.

Pros and cons

If you like to frequent the sauna, the home version will provide much more privacy and freedom. In addition, coming back after a hard day's work, we can relax without leaving the house. Access to a sauna can help relieve muscle pain and can do wonders for mental health. That alone can be worth the investment! On the other hand, however, despite their small size, saunas take up space in the house, and if we don't have much of it, this can be an insurmountable barrier. In such cases, it is worth considering the exterior of the house - the garden.

Where to put the sauna

If we are going to put a sauna in our house, we need to be strategic about where we place it. If we have a large master bathroom, we can convert part of it into a sauna - which is convenient, in the case of a steam sa una - we will then have a source of water for steam generation. The basement can also be a good place for a sauna. If you don't have any water source nearby, you can use infrared technology instead of the more traditional steam sauna. This type of device uses electromagnetic radiation to generate heat. Either way, let's make sure we put it in a place with floor tiles that shouldn't be damaged if moisture gets into them.

We can also consider installing the sauna as a separate structure in the garden or on the terrace. If the area is large enough, this will help save valuable indoor space.
