The investors - parents of three children - enlisted the help of jlw studio at the optimal time, i.e. several months before the planned renovation. The 100-meter apartment is located in Warsaw's Zoliborz district. The impetus for the metamorphosis of the living area was the desire to create a separate bedroom for the youngest son.

This was achieved by separating the parents' bedroom from the living area of the apartment. This was possible thanks to the large number of windows. The wall separating the newly created rooms is entirely built in with a bookcase, which also included a place for a TV set. The screen was hung against a background of wood-like furniture board. The dimensions of the individual shelves were adjusted to fit the music equipment owned by the investors. The former dining room was turned into a relaxing living area.

The heart of the new living area of the apartment is a functional kitchen in shades of broken blue and gray. It has changed its shape and aesthetics to be more modern and functional. It found room for a large table. During the renovation it was also possible to preserve the existing beautiful wooden floor.

Thekitchen appliances were hidden in the built-ins. Holes were milled in the matte lacquered furniture board to allow ventilation. Thanks to the use of large-format tiles above the countertop, there are only two joints in the entire strip between the cabinets. An aesthetically finished floorbox has been designed into the floor to facilitate working with a laptop at the table.

The custom-made furniture arrangement is complemented by an HPL compact countertop in a neutral beige-gray color. The investors wanted the countertop to be matte, smooth and easy to keep clean. The best choice turned out to be a 12-millimeter HPL compact countertop, which is resistant to moisture and minor scratches. Compared to a classic laminate countertop, it looks decidedly more modern. At the same time, it is much cheaper than stone or quartz sinter. It also allows the use of a more hygienic undermount sink.
