Color harmony of a child's room

31 of May '22

Arranging a child's room is always a considerable challenge for designers. Questions arise as to what kind of decor will be appropriate for the development of the child, what will promote the deepening of the child's interests, or warm, or perhaps just cool tones will better affect the child's emotions? As an example of an interesting and visually gentle space dedicated to a child, we present the design of {tag:pracownie}, whose individual spaces we have already described, looking into the eclectic living room and analyzing the arrangement of the hallway, kitchen and dining room.

A bright and cozy space

This part of the room is kept in a light color scheme. The white planes of the closet fronts and the bed, without the context, could seem like elements too cool to use for furnishing a child's room. However, here only their aesthetics draw attention, without denying the room's coziness. This is certainly due to the combination with elements made of wood, which add lightness. So, the floor, the handles in the cabinet facade, the wall behind the bed, the wooden writing board and the boho-style curtain rod give the impression of warmth and promote a sense of security for the child.

On the gable wall, in addition to the wood grain, we also find a starry wallpaper, which adds a bit of magic to the bedroom area.

The more mysterious part

The second part of the room is the play area. Here cool white is intertwined with a mysterious shade of navy blue. The wallpaper of one of the walls has densely printed trees, which stimulate the imagination, encouraging walks - the imaginary ones, of course - through the fabulous forest.

We also have large white balls illuminating the room, which look like light clouds suspended from the ceiling during the day , creating an eerie sense of space.

Fixed elements of the furnishings are a smaller bed in the form of a cottage, an armchair - uszak, which, standing on low legs, is certainly perfect for children, and a small bookshelf made of a traditional wooden box.

A room for siblings?

Blues and gra ys appear in the design of the whole house. Perhaps this makes it give the impression of a space that is neat and full of breath, despite its eclectic nature and the accumulation of a large number of, stylistically different objects.

In the children's room, the dual color scheme imposes an association with the traditional division - the dark part, with elements of blue tones, is perhaps dedicated to the boy, and the white and pink to the girl. Today, however, this is not the rule, so we also leave this interpretation open.
