Flowers jewelry for the home

21 of March '22

A space filled with flowers has a positive effect on mood. Plants increase the amount of oxygen in the air and humidity. They are also an excellent decoration, a timeless trend in our residential interiors. These are just a few reasons why it is worth decorating homes and workplaces, enriching them with natural, living greenery. How to make it beautiful?

Interiors full of flowers

Gathering plants can be addictive. At first we set herbs on the kitchen counter as spices and aromas, then, tamed, we buy flowers in pots, bring home bigger and bigger, more grown-up species, until eventually we find that we fill much of our space with them. The flowers, on the other hand, take advantage of our hospitality, boundlessly creeping over countertops and climbing up walls. So it's worth finding moderation in these relationships and taming the overexpansion of plants.

Any reason is good

Positive impact on mood is probably the most important argument for setting out a green oasis in your home. Even a single plant will make our atmosphere more pleasant. Frequent gazing at greenery soothes emotions and calms down. In addition, caring for plants teaches empathy. So it is worth infecting not only adults, but also children with passion.

Undoubtedly, flowers will beautify our homes, and even become its peculiar jewelry. They will perfectly fit into boho style spaces. We can choose local plants, but also exotic varieties, such as palms, bamboos or orange trees. Flowers will optically warm up our space, and with the form of the pot, color and texture we can perfectly relate to the interior design.

In the era of the fight against smog, they will also work perfectly as natural air purifiers. They absorb significant amounts of carbon dioxide and emit oxygen, and neutralize many pollutants. There are species that filter microorganisms, and there will also be some that neutralize unpleasant odors. Potted plants will also work well in rooms with dry air, especially in winter when we reheat the interiors. Greenery releases water vapor, which will benefit our health.

Herbs, on the other hand, will serve us as spices. Mint, basil or oregano will ignite our senses and enrich not only the kitchen space, but also the taste of the dishes.

Green oasis at home

To set up a home garden, it is a good idea to first determine the type of lighting, temperature and humidity levels in the room. Different conditions will prevail in the kitchen, where plants should be hardy, heat-resistant and draught-resistant, others in the bathroom, where there is humidity and light often has limited access, and still others in the bedroom, for which we will choose flowers that produce oxygen mainly at night.

How to display plants in the house?

Traditional and charming

The use of classic pots will not require a long preparation. Skillfully selected, in terms of form and texture, they will perfectly develop our space. In rustic interiors will work well tin pots, vases, ceramic vases, old wooden boxes, wicker baskets, into which vines will grow and wrap their structure. They can stand directly on the floor, on small supports, or decorative structures. A great base in minimalist interiors will be a shelf made of steel.

Fashionably, but modestly

As flowerbeds, macramé weaves, suspended from the ceiling, are pleasing to the eye. This is a way of displaying hanging plants, which look extremely graceful due to their delicate structure. Also of great interest in recent years are forest compositions in sealed jars, in which a microclimate is created, so that the plant only needs to be watered a few times a year.

Green walls

Vertical gardens will perfectly bring any person into contact with nature. It is a collage of plants made on a vertical grid, but also panels with moss, or hanging plants. Thanks to automatic irrigation systems, we can enjoy lush greenery without the need for daily watering. Development of large wall areas significantly improves indoor air quality. Green screens, and so-called living pictures or string gardens are also used.

Arrangements in the bathroom and under the stairs

In a bathroom, especially one with a natural, austere design, flower pots placed on the floor or mini green walls will look nice. If we want to arrange vegetation in a modern way, some solutions will have to be taken care of already at the stage of construction and finishing of the house. Plant terrariums, or greenery behind glass, are used in modern interiors. Similar ideas are used under the stairs, or developing the interior of the staircase. We can create a beautiful garden there, and the stairs nearby will make us see it from an additional, upper perspective. Taking care of aesthetics and atmosphere, it is worth thinking about artificial lighting, so that the soothing greenery can be enjoyed much longer.

That's not all...

Remember that greenery in the interior is also cut flowers. Their magic, however, is a completely separate story....
