The project by Mango Investments appealed to the investor so much that he abandoned his initial plan to use this apartment for rent.

Beautiful neighborhood

The apartment is located in Cracow, close to the Vistula Boulevards. The two-level apartment has a total of 60 sqm. Two architects from the Mango Investements studio, Karolina Drogoszcz and Sylwia Iwańska, worked on the interior design. The owner did not limit their creativity in any way, giving them a completely free hand. The only requirement of the investor was multifunctionality.

Unexpected detail

The functional layout of the ground floor has remained unchanged. It consists of an open living room with a balcony, a kitchenette and a bathroom. The architects' attention was caught by a concrete raw wall. They decided to leave it unplastered, giving the interior an industrial feel. Thus, the apartment abounds in loft accents, but at the same time it is not cold. Thanks to elements of natural dark wood and the warm colors of the sofa and armchairs, it was possible to introduce a club-like style to the apartment. Architects from the Mango Investments studio decided to enrich the space with a painting by Tamara Berdowska. At first they intended to hang it only for a while, as a fitting for another work of art. However, the owner liked it so much that it stayed in its temporary place forever.

Functional solutions

Under the stairs there are capacious cabinets. The kitchen furniture is also equipped with many functional storage systems. There is even a pantry and space for dishes and small appliances. Meanwhile, in the corridor and bathroom there are capacious custom cabinets. One of them conceals a washing machine. All the furniture was made to measure in a trusted carpenter's workshop. Thanks to this, everything is consistent. The fronts of the cabinets in the kitchen, the staircase and a section of the wall in the living room have the same warm shade of wood. The bookcase in the living area, the balustrade on the mezzanine and the built-ins for the work nook and dressing room were made to a custom design by a locksmith.

Maximum use of space

The architects proposed to arrange a bedroom with a double bed and a work area on the mezzanine. On less than 20 square meters they managed to design two small spaces — a closet and a toilet. Hidden behind a sliding door, it has only a small sink and a washing toilet. However, it is enough for it to fulfill its function, which is the comfort of use without the inconvenience of going down to the toilet on the lower level at night.
