How often should we clean leather?
Leatheris quite a durable material that can withstand years of use. If we want our furniture to serve us for years, it is necessary to care for it properly on a regular basis. At least once a month, dust and dirt should be wiped off with a dry cloth, and then a special leather cleaner should be applied to moisten and protect the material. Stains caused by daily use should be removed immediately - a damp cloth with lukewarm water and mild soap is sufficient. However, if you are dealing with tough stains, ordinary soap may not be enough. To remove stains, depending on their origin, we can use the following preparations:
-
Mild so ap (for minor stains)
-
Vinegar (for minor stains)
-
Rubbingalcohol (for ink stains)
-
Baking soda (for oily stains)
-
Lemon juice (for dark stains on light skin)
Keep in mind, however, that some of these remedies can also adversely affect the material, in which case you should always test the effect of the product on a barely visible area.

Additional tips for using leather furniture
Pets can significantly damage the structure of leather
The sharp claws of cats and dogs can irreparably damage our furniture. If you want to prevent serious damage to the material, do not let pets climb on leather furniture.
Avoid areas with fluctuating temperatures
Leather is sensitive to heat, so make sure your leather goods are not too close to a fireplace or large windows with excessive sunlight.
Remove all stains immediately
Stains left for a long time will penetrate more firmly into the fibers of the material and will be even more difficult to remove.
Difficult stains should be dry-cleaned
If after our gentle cleaning, you don't see any effect, the fabric may need professional cleaning. If we don't want to take the risk, let's give up on home remedies and consult a specialist directly.
