"Best Interior Diploma".
The subject of the work is a project to interpret traditional onsen spaces in Polish realities. The interpretation aims to explore the characteristics of the onsen as a place typical of Far Eastern Japanese culture, and then to implement elements of this space (cultural and physical) in interior architecture in Polish conditions. The project is to illustrate the issue in a variant of interpretation of traditional spaces and futuristic spaces (maintained in a pop-cultural climate) possible to discover through AR glasses.

The specificity of the functional layout is determined by the introduction of the spiritual path motif. It is modeled on the concept of Shinden Zukuri residences and refers to the coexistence of man and nature. As the customer passes through the various spaces, from the lobby to the onsen, he or she prepares to cleanse the body (in the physical aspect) and mind (in the spiritual aspect of contact with nature) of "impurity." An important role in this spiritual process is played by the open garden, characterized by the tranquility and order typical of Zen gardens.

The play of light and shadows in the lobby is made possible by the high windows, which let plenty of natural light into the building. However, to ensure that the strong sunlight, and at the same time the warmth, does not disturb those inside, long curtains have been used to convey a sense of lightness and airiness. However, the main creator of the interior's character is the wooden structure, which is not covered with typical finishing materials. The light wood of the structure presents the sincerity of the material used, creating spatial divisions. The central tree, around which one can walk freely, is a reference to the close contact with nature, so important in Japanese culture.

The styling of the sushi bar differs from the rest of the interior, gaining originality and recognition. Right next to the reception desk are countertops mounted on a loft-like metal frame. The space above the countertops is filled with a lamp with rust pendant details. Noteworthy is the space with tables, which features a theatrical wall installation that creates the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese street. Wall divisions using laths and roof elements create a certain surprise. The customer, upon entering an interior arranged in this way, may feel that by entering the building, he or she has simultaneously "stepped outside" another space. Completing the composition are the lamps hanging over the tables, whose silver color is due to the subtlety of the fine mesh material from which they are made. The clusters of hanging lamps create a sculptural effect, contrasting brilliantly with the dark surroundings.

The room where the shower area is located is directly connected to the changing rooms. The purpose of such a design treatment was to give coherence and harmony to the interior. The only element separating the changing rooms from the shower area is a bamboo area separated by lamellas. The arrangement is based on the repeated use of a wall module constructed of wooden elements inspired by traditional architectural divisions. Minimalist lighting and the rhythm of wooden divisions contrasting with light fillings gives the room an elegant character.

The onsen hall houses two large swimming pools. The first is located entirely under a canopy, while the second, with hot water, is located in an elevated part of the onsen with a skylight. The skylight is a major concept interpreting the tradition of locating onsen in an open natural space. It also combines traditional features to the fullest extent with a modern interpretation of space and design. It allows a sense of closeness to nature. The stone attached to the walls intensifies this impression. Long, linen-like fabrics are also an important design element. The relaxation zone is complemented by loungers standing there. In addition, for those wishing to experience an onsen bath with a small group of friends or family, a space with logs has been prepared.
