The Duchy of Lowicz is one of Poland's most recognizable regions, known for its rich cultural heritage, which has been a carrier of folk tradition for centuries. Despite numerous museum facilities and cultural centers, such as those in Lowicz, which relate to folklore, there is still a lack of a comprehensive venue that could fully engage in the promotion of traditional folk culture, involving both the local community and tourists/tourists. Maciej Czekański of the Sopot Academy of Applied Sciences proposed the design of the "Folklore" center in Nieborów, aiming to fill this gap and offering not only exhibition space, but also a wide range of workshops, concerts and educational activities. The architect's idea was to create a place where the history and traditions of the region would be passed on to the next generation, while contributing to the growth of local identity and promotion of the region on a wider scale.

promoting the folk culture of Łowicz
The goal of the "Folklore" Center project is to create a modern facility that will serve as both an exhibition and workshop space. The project calls for the construction of a multifunctional center that will become the heart of the promotion of Lowicz folklore. It will be a place where workshops on folk dance, traditional music, culinary arts and the creation of folk costumes will be held. The aim of these activities is not only to educate children, young people and adults, but also to promote the region to tourists who come to the Łowicz district to learn about its traditions and history.

The great value of the designed center will be its wide offer. The facility is planned to include workshop rooms that will allow learning not only in folk dancing and singing, but also in fine arts, handicrafts and even sewing traditional costumes. In addition, the center will become a venue for concerts, exhibitions and shows related to folk culture, which will aim to both popularize tradition and contemporary forms of artistic expression.

location in the heart of the Łowicz Principality
Nieborów, a town located in the Łowicz district, was chosen as the location for the "Folklore" Center project because of its historical and landscape value. Its proximity to the Bolimowski Landscape Park creates unique conditions for the implementation of the project, which is designed to combine education, culture and recreation. The surroundings of the landscape park provide peace and quiet, which encourages reflection and a creative approach to art. In addition, the attractiveness of the site is enhanced by its proximity to other cultural centers, such as the museum in Lowicz, which can co-create exhibitions and artistic events.

multifunctionality as a key to success
The project involves the construction of a large multifunctional hall, which will be the centerpiece of the center. Its area will be 310 sq. m, which will allow for the organization of concerts as well as workshops or integration meetings. The hall will be able to accommodate a large number of participants, making it possible to organize events of various scales. In turn, the exhibition part of the building will allow the presentation of both permanent and temporary exhibitions, which will tell the story of the region's history, its traditions and contemporary manifestations of folk culture.

Importantly, the project also includes accommodation and catering facilities, which will allow visitors to stay at the center for a long time. With comfortable hotel rooms and a restaurant, the "Folklor" Center will be able to serve as a resort, as well as organize family celebrations and events, which will significantly contribute to the development of tourism in the region.

modern technologies in the service of tradition
The design and implementation of the "Folklor" center are based on innovative technological solutions, including the use of 3D printing in the construction of the building. The use of this modern technology made it possible to create a unique architectural form that combines traditional materials - wood and concrete - with modern construction methods. Elements such as the building's wooden frame and glazed panels evoke patterns associated with local folklore, including the region's characteristic "spiders." The combination of technology and tradition produces an effect that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional.

pro-ecological solutions and sustainable development
Pro-ecological solutions have also been included in the design to reduce environmental impact. Thanks to the use of green ceilings and a "gray water" recovery system, the building will be environmentally friendly. Photovoltaic roof tiles will allow the collection of solar energy that will power the building, reducing operating costs. In addition, state-of-the-art heat pumps will be installed in the building to provide efficient heating.
