On June 29, the results of the „Perspektywy” 2023 Ranking of university courses were announced. In the technical field, in the category of architecture, the first place went to the Faculty of Architecture of the Tadeusz Kosciuszko Cracow University of Technology! This is quite a success for the Faculty, which in previous years occupied the fifth position.
The educational publishing house "Perspektywy" has been preparing a ranking addressed to male and female college candidates every year since 2000. Its purpose? To help in the selection of a course of study and a university.
The ranking, as the first national one, received the IREG Approved quality certificate, awarded by the international organization IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, founded by a group of creators and analysts of higher education rankings from around the world.
The "Perspektywy" Ranking of Higher Education Institutions includes four rankings, complementing each other:
- Ranking of Academic Universities, which includes all (except artistic) higher education institutions in the country with at least the authority to confer a doctoral degree,
- Ranking of Non-Public Higher Education Institutions covering universities educating at least a master's degree,
- Ranking of Public Academies of Social Sciences and Vocational Universities,
- Ranking of Study Directions.
Ranking of fields of study
In the 2023 ranking, "Perspectives" evaluated 74 groups of majors in nine fields covering the humanities, social sciences, economics, science, natural sciences, technical, medical and health sciences, as well as agriculture, forestry and veterinary sciences.
The ranking, depending on the specifics of the field of study, consists of 12 to 13. indicators grouped into six criteria. The weights of each criterion are also different — depending on the specifics of the direction. Such criteria as prestige, success of graduates, academic potential, teaching potential, scientific potential, internationalization and additional criteria are taken into account.
In the ranking of technical fields, among the academic units teaching architecture, the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology came in first place. This is quite a success — in 2022 and 2022 WA PK was fifth in the ranking. In second place was the Faculty of Architecture at the Gdansk University of Technology, and in third place was the Faculty of Architecture at the Wroclaw University of Technology.
