Belonging to the Nowy Styl company, the Forum Seating brand comprehensively furnished the newly opened Puskás Aréna, the Hungarian national stadium, one of the venues for next year's European Football Championship. This is another famous arena "furnished" by a Polish company.
Construction of the new Puskás Arény in Budapest took two years. The modern facility with a capacity of more than 65,000 spectators was built on the site of the stadium patronized by legendary Hungarian soccer player Ferenc Puskás. Following the example of its predecessor, the Puskás Aréna serves the honorable role of Hungary's national stadium, and as such will host the European Football Championships next year.
A multifunctional arena with flexible auditoriums
However, the stadium was not built solely with soccer players and soccer fans in mind. In line with modern design trends, the arena is multifunctional and allows, among other things, for the organization of concerts by the world's biggest stars and many other shows and events. What's more, depending on the needs, its capacity can be easily modified, adjusting the size of the auditorium to the rank of the event, such as a domestic league match or an official international competition. Such flexibility is thanks to the solutions provided by the Forum Seating brand, owned by Nowy Styl, which used a special fixing system for its flagship Abacus chairs in selected areas of the stadium.
Largest project ever
Abacus chairs totaling some 61,000 units are only part of the equipment supplied by Forum Seating for Hungary's representative stadium. Although the brand already has a sizable number of impressive references to its credit - such as the venues currently under construction for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and stadiums that have been the arenas for major sporting events in previous years - it has not yet carried out such a comprehensive project in its history.
In previous projects, we have focused primarily on providing "basic" chairs for the main stands, possibly seats for VIP areas. Puskás Aréna is our largest project, in which we dealt comprehensively with furnishing the entire interior of the stadium. It also included more than 150 special Montgomery heated seats for the super VIP area, almost 4,000 Oscar chairs for the VIP area, tables for commentator stands, platforms for the disabled, platforms for cameramen, as well as full interior edging," enumerates Jakub Rachfalik, the brand's Managing Director.
Experience that pays off
According to Director Rachfalik, Forum Seating was the only one able to complete such a large scope of work within the stipulated schedule. - Choosing a single contractor is a very comfortable situation for the investor, which makes it possible to avoid surprises that appear at the interface of the competencies of different companies involved in the construction, he explains. At the same time, he stresses that the brand's cooperation with the architect is going very smoothly, among other things because Forum Seating enjoys a very good reputation and trust thanks to its previous projects:

Thanks to them, we have gained a great deal of experience, which is now paying off. What also pays off is the chemistry and great commitment of our entire team, which I would like to thank very much. It is thanks to great professionals that we are developing all the time, we are able to modify our solutions according to the needs or create completely new ones for a given project. And above all, as in the case of Puskás Arény, to fully equip a huge facility," Jakub Rachfalik concludes.
A set of spectators at the opening
Puskás Aréna's baptism of fire ahead of next year's European Championships is already behind it. On November 15, the teams of Hungary and Uruguay ran onto the turf in a friendly match inaugurating the stadium. Adam Krzanowski, president of Nowy Styl, had the pleasure of watching the match and shared his impressions: - The facility is really impressive. I really like its body, which is both modern and classic, making it a great fit for the dynamically developing, yet historic in its nature, Budapest. The atmosphere inside, on the other hand, was phenomenal. To be present at a game that is sold out to the last seat, when 65,000 spectators are cheering your national team from the stands, is an unforgettable experience. I'm glad that we participated, regretting only that the South American guests spoiled the Hungarian celebration a bit and won 2:1.
Trivia
- Nearly 31 km of chair mounting beam was used on the Puskás Aréna;
- The total area of the platforms used in the stadium is 250 square meters;
- Some 90,000 anchors, bushings and rods were used to install all the solutions;
- A set of equipment was delivered in 140 trucks;
- The assembly took 10 months, with about 20 people working on it every day.
