Two new acoustic booths from the hushFree line for people with disabilities

28 of August '24

Hushoffice is introducing two new acoustic pods for work and meetings, fully adapted to the needs of people with mobility impairments - hushFree.Access.M and hushFree.Access.L. The booths have, among other features, a low threshold, making it easier to get inside the booth, a wide door and a choice of opening direction, or a convenient grab handle that does not require wrist rotation. The new products also introduce an intuitive ventilation and lighting control system - hushAssistant - available for the entire hushFree line.

- The modern workplace must respond to the current needs and expectations of employees, and one of the threads of discussion about the vision of the modern office is its adaptation for people with disabilities. Based on U.S. data, the level of employment of employees with disabilities is already increasing as of 2018. An estimated 37% of people with disabilities are entering the workforce, and the largest increase in employment for this group was seen during the Covid pandemic. This has been driven by the development of the hybrid work system, but also by a general awareness and understanding of accessibility in terms of digital tools and integrating it into the hiring process. Adapting the workspace itself to allow people with limitations to function in it has become increasingly important. Workplaces today are primarily for socialization, opportunities for collaboration and the lively exchange of ideas, which can be hindered by purely remote contact. Nearly 63% of all company employees say that collaboration and the opportunity to socialize is the main reason for using the office. It is therefore necessary to include solutions in the design of the workspace that will not limit this opportunity for anyone, if only because of physical limitations
- explains Mateusz Barczyk, senior brand manager at Hushoffice.

space open to employees

The hushFree.Access.M and hushFree.Access.Lacoustic booths are fully adapted to the needs of people with mobility disabilities, including those in wheelchairs. The booths have a low threshold for easy and quiet entry, a wide door and a handle that guarantees easy opening of the booth - just pull it towards you, without the need for a turn of the wrist. The poda door can be right- or left-handed, which further allows you to adapt the cabin to the needs of the employees of a particular office. The degree of door closing force is also adjustable. The booths are equipped with a new LED lighting system with an intensity of 500 lux at tabletop level. The pods allow much more time to be spent in meetings and conversations, both in-person and online, while maintaining focus and guaranteeing speech privacy. Both products are designed for face-to-face or hybrid conversations, discussions that require privacy, team meetings or creative work. HushFree.Access.L, will also work well as an alternative to traditional conference rooms.

Considering data from Canada's National Accessibility Study 2024 report, the most frequently cited physical barriers experienced in the workplace by respondents with limitations are inadequate workstation design and noise. Investing in office cubicles such as hushFree.Access.M or hushFree.Access.L does more than provide solutions for people with disabilities. The presence of adapted equipment in the office strengthens the likelihood of employing people with limited mobility. Even if a person with limitations is not hired "here and now," any solution that improves the accessibility of the office increases the potential of the company's future recruitment processes. What's more, focusing on the idea of office accessibility yields real business results. Based on data from the Accenture report, companies that led the way in disability inclusion over a 5-year period reported 1.6 times more revenue, 2.6 times more net income and 2 times more economic profit than the other organizations surveyed. The trend of inclusivity and diversity, a place that is accessible to all, and flexible solutions that provide employees with maximum productivity while meeting their needs are the keys to creating the solutions of the future today - both in human and business terms."
- adds Matthew Barczyk, senior brand manager at Hushoffice.

efficient ventilation and lighting in a new edition

The launch of the new Hushoffice products also introduces an innovation in the control of ventilation and lighting parameters, available for the entire hushFree line, including the base products, i.e. hushFree.   • Automatic - continuously adjusting lighting parameters to the current time of day;

  • Relaxation - supporting employee rest and wellbeing;
