Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow with new site fencing

30 of August '24

The Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow is an important cultural institution of the Malopolska region, which is not only a treasury of history, but above all a place of inspiration and knowledge of the tradition of aviation in Poland. Such places require a special design for fencing and securing the area.

Knowing that today the Museum's collection includes more than 250 unique airplanes, gliders, helicopters and more than 140 aircraft engines, as well as thousands of musealia (aviation armament, flight instruments, uniforms and decorations), the issue of the security of the exhibits, and therefore of the site itself and the investment, is not without significance. The investor decided to install high-quality WIŚNIOWSKI brand solutions, which are ideal for this type of public facility.

We were keen to select quality products, especially with Polish manufacturing thought. The grounds of the Museum of Polish Aviation are visited annually by more than 204,000 visitors, so comfort of use, but also the possibility of trouble-free opening and closing of the gate was a priority for us in choosing a solution," said Magdalena Zaręba, investment specialist at the Museum of Polish Aviation in Krakow.

The fence was designed with functionality, but also everyday comfort in mind. The self-supporting structure of the industrial sliding gate itself was mounted on the foundation, without the need for additional support elements. The gate was placed on a sturdy running rail with dimensions of 130 x 115 x 4 mm.

As noted by Krystian Teresinski, product manager in the Product Development Department of Fencing Systems at WIŚNIOWSKI, the fence in the form of segments with 25x25mm profile filling, along with the Pl 130 sliding gate, was realized in RAL 7016/MAT gray color. The anthracite color, favored by investors, is a consistent complement to the overall implementation and the modern body of the Polish Aviation Museum building itself. By many, it is considered one of the most modern public buildings in Poland - from a bird's eye view it resembles a huge propeller. The building, designed a decade ago by Berlin-based Pysall-Ruge Architektan, still impresses with its modern design approach, and the gated fence system is a perfect complement.
