Modern technologies, eco-friendly materials and functional solutions - these are just some of the trends that will dominate home construction and renovation in 2025.

Flooring for 2025

As the survey commissioned by the Quick-Step brand shows, Poles will be guided primarily by price (47%) and durability (46%) when choosing a floor . Ease of cleaning (31%) and aesthetics (30%) are also important. Ceramic tiles still dominate in kitchens and bathrooms, while in living rooms and bedrooms respondents would most prefer to use wood.

- The floor should be a universal base, which will allow easy adaptation of interior design to changing styles. Finishes inspired by natural wood - with visible grain and knots- are invariably in the top spot. The wood effect can be achieved not only with traditional planks, but also with floor panels. Herringbone flooring has also been experiencing a renaissance for several seasons. In addition to wood, floors stylized on stone or concrete are very popular, which introduce an industrial character to interiors and perfectly fit in with modern aesthetics. When choosing a floor, it is worth considering not only its appearance, but also the format and layout adapted to the space. Bright colors and horizontal layouts optically enlarge interiors, while large-format solutions ideally emphasize the spaciousness of open rooms, comments Patrycja Krogul, Quick-Step brand expert.

What kind of windows will we choose in 2025?

When buying windows, we focus on minimalism and functionality. We choose subtle models with elegance and modernity. Products that provide plenty of natural light and allow the interior and exterior to blend seamlessly are also gaining popularity. In cities, soundproofing will also be important. Energy-efficient windows, which provide better insulation and support homeowners in saving energy, will continue to be an important trend. Experts also foresee the development of aluminum products, which provide durability, aesthetics and excellent thermal performance.

- Large, panoramic windows and glazing that bring a sense of spaciousness and openness to the interior in 2025 will be particularly in demand. The ideal window in the new year will also provide excellent insulation, soundproofing and be durable. In recent years, we have also noticed an increase in inquiries for eco-friendly solutions, especially in markets such as Germany, France and the UK. So in the coming year, we anticipate that customers will pay even more attention to whether windows are produced in a sustainable manner," says Magdalena Cedro-Czubaj, OKNOPLAST marketing director.

Choosing a roof in 2025

When building roofs, we will still pay most attention to energy efficiency. It is the roof that is most responsible for the exchange of air in the building with its surroundings, so more and more people are focusing on its proper insulation. Green roofs are becoming another important trend.

- Roofs in 2025 will be created more consciously, and choices will be made so that this part of the house becomes, as functional as possible. The roof is a huge space that should be used appropriately, and at the same time the choice of inappropriate materials can result in large losses. Designers and those building their own home will focus on the energy efficiency of roofs, but also on durability and longevity. Thus, the popularity of quality roofing membranes will grow, as their use can reduce energy consumption by almost 15 percent. It is also worth watching the development of green roofs, as adding greenery to this part of the building is currently one of the most growing trends, explains Piotr Pytel, technical advisor of Dorken Delta.

Construction tools in 2025

When choosing tools, we will pay more attention to safety issues. According to experts, certifications such as VDE tests and declarations of performance will become increasingly important. Increasing public awareness, will make ecology and sustainability in the construction industry increase significantly. This will prompt contractors to choose environmentally friendly tools and materials. The new year will also see an increase in demand for efficient and technologically advanced tools that enable fast, effective work. However, price/quality ratio will remain the determining factor in the choice.

- The year 2025 will bring significant changes in ergonomics and tool comfort, which will become a key differentiator for new products. There will be an increase in the number of tools that provide a high level of safety and reduce the risk of accidents on construction sites. These solutions will primarily target professionals who require specialized, high-performance tools. In addition, manufacturers will intensively develop their offerings in the spirit of sustainability, which includes both reducing the carbon footprint and introducing green standards in production. As a result, the tools available in 2025 will be more technologically advanced and environmentally friendly than those offered today, says Artur Kordowski, Market Manager at Würth Polska.
