"10 Questions to an Interior Designer" is a series of short talks inspired by the series "10 Questions to...".This time our attention is turned to interior architects. In today's episode, Marta Pala-Szczerbak of MINIMOO studio talks about their approach to design.

Marta Pala-Szczerbak - owner of the author's MINIMOO studio. She specializes in comprehensive design of apartments, houses and residences. In 2009 she graduated from Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. The interiors designed by her have received numerous awards and have been published in the trade press. The architect pays special attention to furniture, proportions, details, well-designed lighting and materials of the highest quality. Marta Pala-Szczerbak appreciates minimalism and timeless solutions, and combines experience with a fresh outlook and an individual approach to each space. Privately, in addition to architecture and art and what is related to design in the broadest sense, she loves traveling, from which she draws inspiration for subsequent projects.

1 For me, home is.

A space to live and create. It is not only a place of rest and asylum, but also a space that must be perfectly refined. As an architect, I strive for perfection in every project. I make sure that the space is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. My home is a place to meet with friends, and where I can realize my culinary skills. It is also a living space for my investors. Creating it gives me great satisfaction. I enjoy watching my projects become their dream homes.

2 The key to a successful interior design is.

Harmony between the investor's expectations and the architect's vision. The key role is played by mutual understanding and the use of the highest quality materials, which guarantee the durability and timeless character of the arrangement.

3. inspiration I look for...

I have no problem with this. I find them everywhere - in the masses of well-designed buildings, objects that fit perfectly into the space, as well as textures, materials or art. Often, it is nature and the surroundings of the house that become a source of excellent ideas for me. I always have many creative solutions for every design challenge.

4 In cooperation with the investor the most important thing is....

Mutual understanding and trust that the investor places in the architect. I value openness to non-standard solutions and dialogue, which allows us to jointly create spaces that meet the highest requirements.

5 My favorite design style is.

Although I appreciate a variety of styles, minimalism is closest to me. My studio draws from it, focusing on refined details, hiding unnecessary installation elements and modern technologies. Minimalism, while demanding, is an investment in quality that yields exceptional, timeless results. Even when I design in other styles, I try to incorporate minimalist touches that give projects a unique character.

6 The most treasured object in my home is....

A recently purchased painting by one of my favorite artists. It fits perfectly with the aesthetics of the interior and is an example of art that provokes reflection and the discovery of new interpretations.

7 The most common mistake in interior design on your own is....

Lack of proportion in the functional layout and furnishings. Insufficient storage space. Incompetent juxtaposition of individual elements, as well as lack of discernment in the materials available on the market. Interiors designed by an architect are distinguished by consistency, functionality and aesthetics. This is extremely difficult to achieve without specialized knowledge.

8 My favorite material is.

Wood and stone are my favorite materials. Wood, with which I have been in contact since childhood, has a special meaning for me. It is natural, warm and full of character. Stone, on the other hand, adds elegance, durability and timeless style to interiors.

9 A trend I would like to see pass away already is.

Slats - although popular, in my opinion they deserve a break.

10. I would like, someday, to live in....

I live in the heart of Krakow, in an apartment that I designed several years ago and am constantly fine-tuning it. It's a perfect place that reflects my personality and passions. Although I travel the world and often marvel at different locations, Krakow remains my home. I wouldn't trade it for any other place, at least for the moment.
