"10 Questions to an Interior Designer" is a series of short talks inspired by the series "10 Questions to...".This time our attention is turned to interior architects. In today's episode, Natalia Kedzierska talks about her approach to design.

Natalia Kedzierska - Interior designer by passion and education. Graduate of the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. Winner of the international competition "Elite Design Awards" in 2022. Founder of the design studio NAKE design. Privately a lover of modern design, Asian food and travel. She creates original yet timeless interiors to fit her clients' lifestyles. Her goal is to design unique solutions that emphasize the individual character of a given space. She approaches each project as if it were a new challenge, looking for unconventional solutions and paying attention to detail at every stage of the work. Her motto is the belief that interiors should reflect a person's personality and bring harmony and peace to his soul.

1 Home for me is.

The people closest to me and inner peace. Home is also a place to which I return with pleasure - both from work and travel. It is the smell of fresh flowers, comfort, coziness and harmony.

2 The key to a successful interior design is....

Cooperation and mutual understanding between the architect and the investor, with a balance between aesthetics and functionality. It is very important to thoroughly understand the needs of the client, because he is the investor and it is for him to serve the designed space.

3 I look for inspiration....

Actually everywhere, but mainly in numerous trips and meetings with people. I look at everything carefully, observe places, changes, behavior. A large dose of interesting inspiration for me are also foreign social media and magazines.

4 In cooperation with an investor the most important thing is....

Mutual trust and respect. Both parties strive for a common goal, and their openness to dialogue and commitment to it is key. Such cooperation allows for a more efficient operation, greater precision in the implementation of the design objectives and building a relationship based on professionalism and partnership.

5 My favorite design style is.

It is difficult to clearly define, because I design in different aesthetics on a daily basis, combining elements from many styles. A diverse approach allows me to create designs that are unique and outside the usual patterns. However, the closest to my personal preferences is modern minimalism and modern classic.

6 The most important object in my home is....

The table. It is always the place where most things happen and where the best ideas are created, both on a professional and private level. It is a place to eat meals together, which is a very important part of everyday life for me. I also associate this furniture with family, coziness and a sense of security.

7 The most common mistake in self-decoration is.

Selecting low-quality products that wear out quickly or lose their aesthetic appeal. Also cluttering the space. Too much furniture, decorations or accessories make the interior overwhelming and not very functional. Instead of a well-thought-out composition, many people introduce too many different styles and colors into the interior, creating an impression of chaos. An equally important mistake is inadequate lighting - both its quantity and color, which has a big impact on our mood and comfort in a given space.

8 My favorite material is.

Natural stone and wood, which have a unique charm and incredible variety. Each piece of these materials is unique, and this gives the interior an individual character. Their timeless aesthetics and versatility make them a perfect fit for a wide range of design concepts. In addition, we have a sense of proximity to nature, which allows us to pause for a moment.

9 A trend I wish would have passed by now is....

The use of fake furnishings, such as lamps and accessories, which are meant to imitate expensive luxury products. While such solutions may appear to be attractively priced, this often introduces an artificiality into interiors that deviates from the intended effect.

10 I would like, someday, to live in....

A place where summer lasts all year round, with access to the ocean and the beach. Some time ago, for a while, I fulfilled this dream, living for a year on the west coast of Australia. I think that's where my place is, and where I'd like to return to someday for a longer period of time.
