As we read in the jury's justification:
The house under the forest in Rybnik is an example of a very successful interpretation of the three elements that construct the architecture of context, function and space. The lump of the building in its form and texture here seems to be an object taken from nature. The dominance of wood in the organization of the exterior and interior of the building results in an impression of warmth, closeness to nature and, consequently, will bring a sense of harmony and security to the existence of users.
Honorable mention of the Single-Family House category. Atypical House

The main prize in the Object category, and at the same time the Grand Prix of the Architecture of the Year of the Silesian Voivodeship 2020 competition, was awarded to the residential building Nowy Werdon in Ruda Śląska by the Małeccy Biuro Projektowe studio (team composed of Joanna Małecka, Wojciech Małecki, Łukasz Krasuski).
Grand Prix and the main award in the category Object. New Veronium

The jury justifies the decision this way:
Nowy Verdon receives the Grand Prix for the author's apt and mature attempt to redefine traditional multi-family Silesian housing. The creation of contemporary architecture grown out of respect for the context and local tradition both typologically and in terms of materials is a response to today's social needs and can be an important voice in the discussion on the form of shaping the space of Silesian cities. The project consistently realizes visions of contemporary architecture adapted to today's needs of residents while maintaining its localness and material solutions. It is a successful attempt to combine tradition and modernity while maintaining a moderate budget.

This is what Wojciech Malecki says about Nowy Verona:
This project, a contemporary Silesian familok, is an attempt to fulfill an architect's dream that architecture, a bit like a doctor, can help a person. It seems to us that a new, contemporary building that uses traditional Silesian language, including the use of materials, a certain simplicity of shapes, the introduction of gardens and other elements, can help this neighborhood to flourish anew and become a beautiful place to live and give joy to the people who choose to stay here.

The Local Activity Center is an architecture that builds community, a discreet intervention that changes the quality of public space. The awarded project recognizes the needs of residents, mobilizes them to meet and integrate.
