We invite you to participate in a contest organized by the We Are Water Foundation. The task is to create a short film addressing the climate crisis.
We Art. Water Film Festival is an international short film competition that aims to identify projects sensitive to climate issues. The keynote of the fifth edition of the competition is sustainable development.
According to a UN study, a huge number of people in the world do not have access to potable water, and one hundred and fifty-two million people use unsafe water sources. Every year about three hundred and sixty-one thousand children under the age of five die from diarrhea. The foundation hopes that through the contest, more and more people will learn what problems the lack of sanitation infrastructure is causing around the world.
The films submitted to the competition will be judged by a jury consisting of: Daniel Monzón - director, Carla Simón - director and screenwriter, Emamode Edosio - director, Nora Navas - actress and vice president of the Academy of Fine Arts andSpanish Film Arts, Ingrid Garcia-Jonsson - actress, Elena Sánchez - journalist, Carlos Jiménez - representative of the UN regional information center, Sharon Metcalf - director of the American University School of Communication, Xavier Torras - president of the We Are Water Foundation, and competition commissioner Judith Colell.
We want to focus specifically on the climate crisis and its consequences. The different perspectives of filmmakers from around the world will certainly show the global vision of the problem and help us better understand the consequences of our actions. - says Xavier Torras president of the We Are Water Foundation, founded by the Roca Group.
Registration is open until April 2 on the contest website. Submitted videos should be a maximum of three minutes in length.
