At the intersection of the past and modernity was the vision of Agnieszka Seweryn from the Koszalin University of Technology. The designer has designed a unique space - a music café on the site of the former Artistic Headquarters in Koszalin. The design of the café is a story about places that combine memories, art and everyday life, creating new stories to the rhythm of music.

Artistic Centrala in a new edition
Centrala Artystyczna in Koszalin was a place that many locals and residents associated with an intimate atmosphere and traditional values. Older people valued what they had known for years, while younger people were looking for a modern space that was open to their needs. Agnieszka Seweryn took on the challenge to modernize the space in a way that would preserve its soul while giving it a new, dynamic character.

The idea behind the project was not only to reconcile different expectations, but also to create a multifunctional space, adapted to changing needs. Depending on the time of day and type of event, the café can be a place for intimate meetings, a space for artistic exhibitions or a dynamic concert hall.
design that tells a story
The interior of the music cafe is minimalist, but full of distinctive details. The base is neutral colors - white, anthracite, graphite, natural wood and concrete. The refreshed brick on the walls evokes an industrial atmosphere, while the concrete spout on the floor emphasizes the rawness of the space. However, it's the artistic touches that give the interior its unique character.

Original neon signs inspired by staves and notes hang from the ceiling - subtle yet expressive. Not only do they add a musical atmosphere to the space, but they also harmonize with modern technologies, such as busbars and electric ceiling heating. On the walls there are displays of paintings, allowing the premises to function as a mini art gallery.

flexible space
One of the project's greatest assets is its modularity. The café was designed to easily adapt to a variety of needs. With curtains on Micro Flex systems, it is possible to separate private areas for groups or open up the space for larger events.
The interior features a variety of furniture, from sofas and armchairs to hockers and standard chairs. Resin cubbies, designed by local artists, serve as coffee tables and can be used as additional seating if needed.

The café's design is also an example of how technology can serve aesthetics and functionality. LED COB lighting, located in the skirting boards, allows the creation of a variety of moods, while modern plafonds illuminate the restrooms and facilities.
All interior elements were designed with accessibility in mind. The absence of architectural barriers, wide passageways and bathrooms adapted to people with disabilities make everyone feel comfortable.

The project did not lack room for a bit of extravagance. The toilets in the music cafe are an example of modern design, which attracts attention to detail. Raw gray tiles combined with iridescent mosaics create a unique effect, while mirrors with the illusion of infinity give the space a futuristic vibe.
Neon accents around the doors and windows, as well as the hidden toilet door, made of black Dibond board, emphasize the minimalist yet distinctive character of the interior.

Café as a space for integration of generations
The Music Café in Koszalin is more than a catering establishment - it's a space that integrates, inspires and reminds how important meeting places and art are in the life of a community. Agnieszka Seweryn created a design that meets the needs of today's male and female residents of the city, without forgetting its history and traditions. Her vision shows that a well-designed interior can be more than a place - it can become an experience, connecting people, creating memories and building new stories.
